Bear with me. This is a long post/rant.
I have been lurking on this thread and watching every development of this thread just as much as the Animal Crossing Villager has been watching all along, silenty waiting for his moment to
strike shine.
First and foremost, I want to thank the Devs for really contributing to the WiiU scene. Truly, we could have done nothing without you. Slowly but surely, the WiiU scene has been growing. We have Backup Loaders, RAM hacking, on the fly modding, e-shop spoofing and firmware spoofing. None of this would have ever happened if it wasn't for you guys,
@crediar and other key Devs (sorry if I'm not giving a shout out, but you're all being thought of. I promise.)
I'm still unsure exactly what happened with the drama of this thread or the resolution due to sarcasm, but I believe it doesn't really matter, or shouldn't matter to any of us.
What we have to realize as consumers, or average users, is that it either requires a good amount of time or a large group of people to develop software, exploits or even hardware.
These devs have put a lot of time to create something that seemed somewhat stale at first, where demand was low, but has picked up massively throughout the past few months. They pretty much built the bridge from scratch. Of course, it's a bridge that needs to be supported with stability, whether that means adding more planks of wood, beams and nails (you can clearly tell I'm not a architect or construction worker).
They were kind enough to release something in the meantime allowing talented members to pick up some things and create custom tools. I also acknowledge the fact that many of people are unable to use these tools as they are stuck on FW 5.4.0, such as myself. Contrary to popular belief, I do not feel like we willingly updated to 5.4.0, I like many others used an outdated tutorial to block domains that eventually did not work. However, that shouldn't be the issue, and we shouldn't blame developers for these natural occurrences. Things happen and this is a means to test our patience. Devs are working really hard outside their personal stresses whether it's school related, family, work, or even reducing downtime or time spent playing games. Yet, they care for the scene, and the people on this thread, no matter how arrogant or stuck up some may sound.
One thing we need to remember is we are all human. We all have morals, values and beliefs. We can't convince the world to take the same view as us. That's not how life works. This message goes to us first and foremost. However, devs as well are not PRs. They may say things directly, sometimes showing no empathy, which of course as humans, we also feel emotion, meaning we can easily have hope, get hurt, cry or lose trust if devs one day suddenly tell us they are not releasing the exploit with direct reasons.
Anyway, this post is really to say that we should always see two sides of a coin and really analyze before getting into fights or problems with one another (I sound like a self entitled hippy, I know... But I certainly don't look like one ;p)
I thank all developers and all members on this site who are supporting with the best of manners and high spirits.
To the devs: I know you may have heard this many times, but if ever it gets too tough and things seem impossible, there are many brains out there who are willing to help. My advice, no matter how little I am as a person, is that you publish your work should you ever give up. Some people will surely pick up your work and help make it the dream we've all wanted it to be. Twenty brains is always better than five, ten or fifteen. This is my two cents. In the end though, you guys decide. You guys started this wonderful step and set up the pillar that we all needed. Whatever you guys choose should be respected no matter what and we have no right to whine due to the reasons stated earlier.
Once again, I sincerely thank all GBATemp members for being who they are, diverse and talented in their own way, and to developers who contribute to this vibrant community and scene.
Sorry for the long post, and if you've read it all, I'm glad you were interested in reading through to the end
