So are 95% of people replying here xD
I try to shut up except for the occasional stupid comment. Until I figure out a laptop, hacking will be suspended for me :) though my new beast of a laptop just arrived.

okay, bye guys, I'm back to hibernating.

These are the files I got with Minish Cap when I used Dumpiine. It would be really cool to be able to open it up and change out the rom.

yeah i cant seem to find it at all tough, i would like to try and inject some gba games but so far i cant find anything.

oh well if thats the case then gba VC injects should be possible by injecting the rom at 0x34571100 (although i dont know if thats a fixed address or if it varies from game to game), but for megaman battle network 3 the rom is stored there

Quick question: My Wii U is running 5.3.2, but I just bought Mario Kart 8 and when I try to play the game a system update comes up on the screen. I quickly cancel it, but from what I have read Mario Kart 8 should not have an update on the disc past 5.3.2, so I am not sure why it is prompting me at all!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Block the nintendo servers or else all games will ask for an update.

Do you have updates blocked through your router?

I did block the URLs at my router level, but I know that the router cannot filter https. Should that affect anything? It still prompts me to update when I start the game for some reason.

Also when I go to download management on the Wii U it lists a system update, but shows the download as "Error". Seems blocked?

Will the just prompt me every time regardless and I will just have to click through it?

Thanks

Try using the "remove update data" exploit and set your DNS to tubehax inside the WIi u. That's how I did it.

Does it do that with any game you try to play?? Try completely disabling internet and popping the game in. Worst case scenario is that Nintendo has re-printed MK8 with >5.4.0 on the disk

Do you have a link to how to do this? I would like to try it!

I hope this isn't the case. It does prompt me even when the internet is disabled... but that system update is pending in the download management and I don't have a way to get rid of it so it might just be waiting on that?

This was a great idea and it DID remove the update from the download manager, but unfortunately I am still prompted to update when I start Mario Kart 8! It could be that when I click the "Update" button it just fails, but I'm not sure I'm willing to take that risk.

Funny enough I don't have any other discs to test right now. I have a few downloaded games like Super Mario 3D world which work fine, but the rest of my games are at a friends house. I will retrieve them and test in the next few days. I guess until then I won't be playing MK8... disappointing!

Would it also be a good idea to use Crediar's firmware spoofer in that post? Maybe that would stop the update prompt?

Do you have the game updates installed? If not, than you'll get an update message for it. If it wont let your run the game, use the Tubehax DNS block. It blocks the games from determining they are online.

Well I just changed my connection's DNS servers to TubeHax's servers. I know 5.5.0 support is not likely to arrive for a long time, but I'm perfectly happy with the Homebrew Channel on vWii for now anyway. Keep up the good work, devs :>
