Why not just get them from eShop now that you can with the eShop spoofer??
yeah....it turns out you cant get updates directly from the eshop....or at least i couldn't find the smash bros update earlier

You need to get it with the game in the console. I'm not sure if that would cause you to update to 5.5 though...

It asks for the system update too. It's not that simple.

I was doing each update with the game in the drive.

If I had been a noob, your advice could've caused me to update. Don't sound so sure of yourself if you haven't fully performed a hack yet :P

I am hacked actually, but ran into issues downloading eshop titles last night and had to put it down until tonight. And I have N3DS hacked which downloading updates works just fine with the game in the console, so I thought Wii U would work the same.

Use the tubehax DNS to prevent your system updating.

Also, the only way to update games, is this way. No other for the time being.

I had no issues grabbing stuff off the eshop last night :) it's just updating games I haven't played before.

So you're not fully aware of the whole process. :P

Sigh, yes I know that. I had gf aggro last night so I couldn't continue. And I wasn't "sure of myself", I asked why you didn't use eShop. Quit patronizing me dude.

I'm on 5.3.2U and just trying to install title updates... no spoof yet. I tried to load up www.wupinstaller.com/wi on the browser. The tv screen goes black, and the gamepad shows the site loading but freezes at payload. Waited about 2 minutes, but nothing. Tried at least 10 times. Am I doing something wrong??

Use the more updated Kernel exploit once it loads, than use the WUP installer. It will run the installer. The wup installer itself uses the older less stable kernel exploit.

If you spoof, you will never be able to install the legit 5.5 in the normal ways. Once 5.6 or higher comes out, you can update your system with any standard method just fine.
Why wouldn't you be able to? The only thing that is changed is the version.bin, no? Plus, what happens if the folks that are spoofed to 5.5.0 let the update happen when it tries to run?

FYI I got it working now. Tried the solution in the "Common Problems" section of the OP. I opened a few tabs and loaded facebook.com, youtube.com, and a few others. Exited the browser, relaunched, closed the tabs, cleared cookies, disabled curtains, then retried the exploit. I got the "Exploit failed" error msg a few times, but then it worked. Not sure if this would work for you? It may at least get past the black screen and artifacts. Anyway, good luck! :)

Finally, I've got it working by trying to host the exploit using my localhost.... Thanks for all !!!!

Omg my wii is asking to update. How do I wipe the update it downloaded? I go to wiiutools.com/RU/index.html and it just goes to the home menu. That mean it's worked?
Then if I try again it says not found

Found a solution for people having a Problem after installing a game update:

If you have a HDD or USB stick in your WiiU nake sure to move your game specific save file to the internal WiiU "harddrive."

Then use wupinstller to installiert your game update.

Then it works.
The Problem is, wupinstaller installs to the intern wiiu "harddrive". When you have a USB stick or HDD in your wiiu the game will choose this and cant update.

After its succesfull, you can move your update and save files to the USB stick.

I had the same Problem, as i only have the Wii u basic and a 32gb USB stick

I hope you guys could unterstand what i mean. Since english isnt my native tongue

Thank you for your input! However, I found my issue to be different and solved it. After lurking through the thread here, I found that the latest version of the update for Smash is actually v160 and not v80 so after sorting that out, its now no longer prompting me to update.

I would like to know as well. I have no data on an external device. NUS grabber GUI downloaded the correct title version for v80 according to http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/Title_database (Title ID is 00050000E10144F00 for v80 USA). It installed correctly, but still saying I need to update when trying to launch the game. I did purchase some DLC yesterday, but the content is in the actual update so it should work regardless I would think.

Nevermind, appears my numbers were screwed up.
