I tried this on a new3ds @ 9.0.0.20-E, but it did not work ... it always said that AM service could not be initialized ... any ideas?

Hi, just wanted clarification, I've just installed rxtools, got the sysnand and emunand seperated, all working well. However, I noticed something odd, whenever I start Rx, whether it be from the browser or through the DS Profile, it always does that "setting up/installing" phase beforehand, then I ALWAYS have to hold the right trigger to get into emunand. How can I have it to just automatically go to RX-EmuNand when just pressing the Profile button? Is it a change of the .dat file? Any help with this would be appreciated as I set this up for a friend and he's not exactly the best at these things.

Also:
Ok, both the SysNand AND the EmuNand are both on 4.4.0-4E. How do I update JUST the EmuNand to whatever is the current best firmware to use?

I'm not sure about the installing thing but you shouldn't have to press any buttons other than A once it's gone... It should autoboot into emuNAND. Updating emuNAND is easy just boot into it and MAKE SURE you're booted into it, then go and update it like you normally would

Haha I went from pasta to rxTools and now I've settled on Cakes... It's the best IMO until a stable rxTools 3.0 comes out (cmon pasta team sheesh lol) all I can say is, try them out with the browser exploit if you have an o3ds, they're pretty easy to setup and then you can see which you like and which you don't... Plus rxTools has a LOT of useful tools, hopefully soon we'll have a way to format emuNAND easier (someone will probably write some homebrew to do so) so we can cut down on gateway launcher.dat use as much as possible

Cakes then... It's probably not much different than pasta, I'd say boot pasta and then boot ninjhax and test cakes from there, see if you like and if not then just take the files off of your card... Easy

With ReiNand 1.x (if you can find the files, they were removed from the pastebin) it was compatible with o3ds, since then, for some reason, ReiNand 2.x is now only n3ds

Well basically MSET is the Settings Application of the (n)3ds. You will need to downgrade it to an exploitable version to trigger the NDS profile exploit. This way you can easily load CFW without having to use any of the *hax again all the time

Well, obviously you will need an entry point to execute custom code on the (n)3DS ... but this can be the NDS profile exploit ... if you've got an NDS flashcard and downgraded your MSET ... but to replace MSET with an exploitable version you will definitely need OOT, CN, Tubehax or whatever *hax

• start ninjhax
• open FBI up and press select, a menu should pop up on the top screen
• Find your CFW on the list, it should be accompanied by a 4.x and NOT a 6.x NOTE: not all custom firmwares will be on the list
• press A to install it
• done...

For me 6.x never worked, but 4.x did Be aware though: you will loose some settings due to this ... like mircoSD management, super steady 3d configuration, etc. ... this is the reason why i always use ninjhax to launch my CFW
If you replace mset ... just make sure to undo the replacement later, if you want to call the "format system" option in the settings menu ... there have been reports about (semi-)bricked new3DS(es) ... when people failed to obey this.
