Hello everyone at gbatemp

I wanna know if anyone wants to help out on a new project called "PROJECT Z" Its an open source project for personal Entertainment. I would wanna know how to edit models and textures to make a pretty badass hack

It will be the first ever FULLY HACKED SSB4 ROM. Project M said they are sticking to Wii U so that's why I want to be the first one to make a hacked rom.

Thank You GBATemp users for helping me out on this project

Do I understand you correctly in that you don't actually know how to edit the models and textures?

I totally can but I have no idea how to decompress all of the fighter files

I have custom music running in the game

good luck with the models... the fighters have their textures and bones stored in bch files... while their models r stored in .mbn files.. and there's currently no tool that opens mbn files

RTB gave up on the Smash3ds model format cause it was all complicated for him due to the mbn files that loads with the bch files... he might get back to it, but for now, its on hiatus.

You should be impressed that I literally only made an account to say how terrible of an idea this is.

This is pretty similar to what Brawl+ was. Open source, community driven. What happened to it? There were internal problems as to which direction it should go, the community complained when a strong character they liked got nerfed, there were updates every half hour. No one knew what was official and what wasn't (there was a Brawl+ 4.0 Gold ver 2.3 or something stupid at one point in time).

You don't want to repeat that. It led to a lot of bad blood and hate among the community, some differences that still haven't been settled and probably never will be.

TL;DR: It's a bad idea, don't do it.

They have plans for porting Project M to Smash 4, but they aren't working on that right now.

I really want to know where you get your information from.

Last I heard was that PM had no interest in doing Smash3ds or SmashU projects at all..

This man is right. PM said that they had no interest in modding SmashU at all.

It's just how it is. It won't work. People that are disillusioned or don't like what they see will take what they like and create their own versions they like and then you'll end up with Brawl+ and have a similar and pitiful death.

Keep it closed source when you start, but when it gets big is when you should make it open source.

I understand that you guys don't agree with me, but please try to stay on topic instead of talking about how cynical I'm being.

One time hackers tried this and make a mixture of fighters and it was freaky.
