No you have to get both. Just do it if you can.So youtube is just an alternative for ironfall for those who didn't get it in time right? If someone already downloaded Ironfall there's no need to download the youtube app correct?

Smea said you should download YT regardless if you have Ironfall or not! So grab it while you can!So youtube is just an alternative for ironfall for those who didn't get it in time right? If someone already downloaded Ironfall there's no need to download the youtube app correct?
Your best choice is to return that 3DS, and buy one that has a firmware of 9.2.0-20 or lower.alright thanks![]()
Where did you read that the YT does give you kernel access?download the damn app why wouldn't you? look at it this way what if Ironfall exploit was limited like ninjaHAX 2.0 where the YouTube exploit gives you access to kernel just get both.

he is saying what if, not confirming it.Where did you read that the YT does give you kernel access?
He's not claiming that Tubehax gives you kernel access. He is making a case for downloading both Ironfall and YouTube, hence the "what if": it's a hypothetical situation. Better download both and cover all your bases than regret it later.

UPDATE: The game has now been pulled from the US and EU eshops, but I am not sure about the Japanese eshop.
Actually, considering he originally said CN or OoT would be needed once to install the free hax (presumably ironhax) but then said later on that no purchase would be neccessary, I'm starting to think that YouTube might be a free alternative to using CN or OoT to install ironhax. He's not claiming that Tubehax gives you kernel access. No qr codes or anything. Atleast not in the free version.Actually, considering he originally said CN or OoT would be needed once to install the free hax (presumably ironhax) but then said later on that no purchase would be neccessary, I'm starting to think that YouTube might be a free alternative to using CN or OoT to install ironhax.
Has anyone actually played Ironfall and know if it supports QR codes or some other form of data input? Otherwise I don't really see how Ironhax could work without another entry point to install the exploit with.
The YouTube entry point might be usable for all the same things as ninjhax and ironhax, but it would likely be inconvenient to access since you have to go through all the steps to reach google.com and then find the exploit loader from there. However if used to install ironhax it would only be needed once.
It seems likely to me that this is smea's reasoning behind telling people to download the YouTube app even if they already have Ironfall. It all makes sense if you look at it that way.
No way to know for sure until it's released though. But if it turns out I'm right I'll be the one going "called it"![]()

do we still need ironfall? or is this an alternative?
having both is best.
yes, you should get youtube if you have ironfall. yes, you should also get it if you don't have ironfall.
i think a new entrypoint that works on latest firmware, is completely free and doesn't require any special hardware is a big announcement. i'm sorry that you disagree, but i don't think there's anything i can do about that.
I expect they will do that but there might be other ways to escape YouTube as well. The best thing for them to do would be to update the app patching the bug and require everyone to update to be able to use the app. What concerns me is that "privacy policy" page in the youtube app could be on the net, and if so, it could simply be fixed by editing the google.com link to stop the escape from youtube.
Maybe you're right, but then how are people supposed to install ironhax?I just can't wrap my mind around YouTube being needed by Ironhax in order to work, given how Smea has been addressing this situation. He tweeted:
And he posted on Reddit:
This all makes it seem that TubeHax is neither an alternative nor a requirement for IronHax. Having both will provide synergies that will make it a better solution for homebrew, but not having one doesn't prevent you from using the other.
Until he releases the exploit, we won't know. It will all make sense then...
PS: I've been meaning to use this for some time now. All aboard the hype choo-choo!
