Hey guys, I got a gateway working on a 4.4 firmware, I managed to play everything fine so far, but can't get Monster Hunter 4 to work, the game loads then gets a black screen after I boot it and the 3ds freezes, I have to turn off power to make the 3ds work again, is it playable on gateway?
What can I do to fix it?
I'm still running the 4.4 version, I didn't mess with emunand to update the system to the latest version, could that be the problem?
Sd card is a 32gb sandisk, in case that makes some difference to the solving of the problem.

Sorry if this is the wrong board for it.
Hoping that someone can help or at least point some direction in this forum where I can see that, since I made some search and couldn't find anything specific to this related.

Update your emuNAND to 9.8, should work fine then.
but make sure your sysNAND and emuNAND are UNLINKED when you update, or youll update sysNAND too and lose any way of using Gateway.

Linked NAND's does not matter. People make the mistake of checking system settings, seeing the "GW" appended to version number, exiting (which kicks you to sysNAND) and then updating. Or they also update from eShop in emuNAND which will also update your sysNAND instead.

To do it right, you should check system settings in emuNAND, ensure GW is appended to version number, then scroll over to System Update (without exiting settings) on the fourth page and commence update.

I didn't know you could mess up in that part, I figured that as long as "GW" appeared before the version it was 100% safe to update.

I was going to follow this guy's tutorial on how to configure emunand, can you tell me if it's safe to follow it exactly the way he does?

Yeah, I didn't even listen to it, just watched his steps. EmuNAND is pretty basic to setup. When you go to update just make sure you don't leave system settings before updating. The update takes place as normal, then your unit will reboot into sysNAND. You'll have to relaunch GW to emuNAND and then check the version in system settings. Remember after checking to make sure it updated right that you'll get kicked to sysNAND (again). Tedious I know, but after that you can launch emuNAND again and not have to go to system settings again until the next update.
