Are you sure the save and the game have the same title id ?
A last method you can try with rxtools : download the save data transfer tool in the eshop and use it to transfer your save frome the retail cartdrige to the cia game.

Gonna try to find a CIA of that tool first.

It's an annoying hassle to get on eShop, download something, and then have to reinstall all my CIA DLC, Themes, and such, after. (Since it up and wipes it all once you connect online)

OH GOOD!

Try to get on eShop as the last straw, and whenever I try to download the Save Transfer Tool, it hits me with this:

error code 007-6106

And not a single person when I Google this problem can help.
