Good luck, I'm trying to change the town tree size. Should I edit bytes with c's in them? Gah this is annoying

good luck to you as well, people have already changed the picture and said it was "simple" and they wouldn't release the method and its not that simple lol

Everything needed to edit the ID Card photo is somewhere scattered in pieces in the other thread, also try looking at the FF DB I guess...

Yeah it's easy, and we don't help people about that because it would spread like the plague and some kids would put bad images (someone in the club tortimer island asked me to put an ass picture).... Hope you won't release the method when you'll find out how to do

I remember something about keeping the picture size the same as the original picture ID

Yeah, to be honest though do people really look at other peoples Town Passes? I don't think in my whole playtime I've ever actually looked at someones Picture.

I think its just got to be under 3.5kb :)

do any of you have any idea on which byte will change the town tree size?!?
Coordinates are 40x38, which are 28x26 in hex, and the town plaza is #12 in the buildings list on the ram editor, and 0C in hexadecimal, all of which I've found. Would the byte to change the tree size also have a C in it? I think the size goes up like 1st stage is either 00 or 01, and continuing from there. I've edited C5, which is what my town tree is at now (Well if it starts at 01) and nothing changed...I feel like I'm getting nowhere. It's trial and error but I wonder if there is a way to speed the process up...

I changed the pic to 62x100 (Size of the id pic) and I made the pic the specific amount of bytes and it still just changes it to the default picture (White frame with a pink shadow of the girl character which mine is a boy)

Yes, picture must be the same weight (or lighter) as the original picture, or else it would rewrite important bytes of the TPC. Same for the size (px)

I'm not sure then, someone helped me with mine. You can make it more efficient I guess by using the editor to check if the image has loaded on Dresser.

Kippy, check on the xml list of the editor what is the byte of the tree itself and then search, i'm sure it's near that. Ask for a ram file where the tree is at the first stage, copy a block of hex bytes near that tree byte then paste it to your ram file and inject. If the tree has changed, you will know where to look.

Don't touch that jpeg exif thing, Epicinki has posted a byte above, I think you're (or you were) starting from FFD8 just like me, it won't work from there but from what EpicInki has posted

I might look into house interior size this weekend. I wiped a town to totally brand new to check how it works!

In the meantime, please enjoy my attempted assassination of Marshal

Lol, I also rerouted a river through Fauna's house earlier this week while re-arranging my map. Made for entertaining photos, and Zucker was in the river too (how fitting).

Kippy, the things you're all asking I'm telling you YOU have to find by trial and error if you want to do this because no one else knows. That is the endeavor all of us are undertaking. We are all currently decrypting the file and trying to locate the bytes. If we knew where they were already, you wouldn't be looking for them in the first place...

Yes, it is extremely tedious. You can either wait for someone else to do it or keep trying, but no one is going to have a magical answer for you to make it go faster...

Sorry, it's just I feel I'm getting nowhere. Others might have done something and know a little about it
It's so confusing because the bytes that look like they might do something don't change the tree and ds;klfjsd;f. But if one byte doesn't work does that mean that same byte in another spot won't work? Like, just in general. It would rule out a ton of 00s.
Oh well I have to go to bed anyways. Maybe I'll have more luck tomorrow...
Also how do I remove this Explorer's day standee that appeared out of nowhere? I tried the building seeder to remove it but the search engine keeps giving a yellow screen before crashing, and the Building seeder section says nothing about what that means.
