Im just thinking to myself. I feel like the creators of Gateway probably wont go to any Nintendo store or the Nintendo company department itself.. I can imagine the paranoia in their heads. They might get abducted and arrested or whatevs :p

Nintendo will get them with one of their fucking blue shells eventually.

No one knows the identify of the GW team. So.......I don't see why they need to be paranoid when walking into a N store.

Fuck sky, they are ripping off nintendo :D, Gateway isnt and gateway will support 9.6 very soon :P

Also, serious question here; I can be on 9.0 emunand and play online right? I think its a given but just wanted to make sure
About to install some .cia 3ds games now
Yeah you can go online all you want just dont leave the console with the wifi on in sleep mode ;)

no one knows as GW haven't made any statement, but it's just speculation due to the nature of the 9.6 update and exactly how it broke emunand

Mucho much time!

Thanks guys
Personally, I think that it's because of N3DS that the release takes time (they surely want to release all in 1-time), remember when they said that there won't be EmuNAND on it :

New3DS NATIVE_FIRM

The ARM9-loader has added a new keyX with keyslot 0x16 that is generated on hard-boot. The ARM9 binary is now encrypted with this key. In order to decrypt it, you'll need arm9hax on firm > 9.4, or some form of bootromhax.

We will not be able to support emunand 9.5 or higher for a while on the New 3DS. This is only an issue for the New 3DS, the old 3DS and 2DS will never have this issue

In order to fix EmuNAND for New 3DS 9.6.0, Brickway has to either dump the boot ROM or break into the ARM9 boot process, both of which would require delicate electronic work that could take weeks or months. We know that they can do this kind of thing, since they somehow acquired the 7.x NCCH keyX.

Maybe they're assessing the difficulty right now in order to see whether they want to release an Old 3DS-only update and deal with the support annoyance of people who don't read and update their New 3DS EmuNAND to 9.6.0.

Or they may announce a new GW card.:P

Doesn't the GW card have some kind of eprom emulation for card1 games (I recall they at one point in time had saves stored on the gateway card instead of the system SD card).

I would imagine they could add a special update where you can put it in "Sky3DS" mode where it basically behaves like a Sky3DS...Only it can be updated and could truly be unblockable. Sky3DS users are stuck in this illusion that their card will remain unblocked forever and trust me it won't. They built their house on the edge of a cliff and won't realize it until it's too late. :P

You really think they could do that? It'd be great, but I imagine if they could do it, they would have done so immediately to eliminate competition.

I would imagine that if they could, they might put that off until after they determine they can't bring support to new fws with their current system anymore. Though that's unlikely to occur for classic 3DS owners. But for n3DS they might offer that as an option for them if the new Arm9 encryption proves too big a road block. :P
