Classic mode is for retail carts. It's purpose is to allow you to run higher firmware games when your sysnad is below that firmware.

You have a n3Ds, correct? If so, you can just run them from sysnand as it will not be as problem. Apache Thunder has a method for extracting those saves so you can ditch the carts if you would like. Something to look into as you get more familiar with how everthing works.

Alrighty sounds good; I'm currently looking back at the Rom file header topic again (https://gbatemp.net/threads/scene-roms-online-tutorial-for-dummies.370589/)

Seems safe to play roms online as long as I use my own file header from Mario Kart 7 :)
I'm currently backing up my Mario Kart 7 game and will play online later, for now I'll try games on the emunand menu and looking into Cia files :D

Good luck with the save. I can't remember if I was successful dumping the MK 7 save and using it or not. There is a new method using ntr CFW and SDF but I have not done it yet, hopefully I can test it out in the next few days.

I see, sounds cool

Just played Ultimate nes remix in emunand, its pretty fun :D

Also looked at a cool guide by Mrmario2011 for CIA installation, is Bigbluemenu still the best method for CIA installation?

I wonder if GW will take awhile to support emuNAND with 9.6. Im in emuNAND 9.5J atm so Im fine, though id like to go online sometime soon its not a uge deal.

Yeah!
I just wanted them to post something to "calm us down"...
Something like "we already know about 9.6... blah blah and we're investigating blah blah"... Something that could be vague and generic but that show us they are aware of this...

Quick question:
Is it possible to go online in a game if you're not on the latest update?

I'm asking this because I deleted all my internet connections on Emunand because of 9.6.

Also are save files for cia games on the SD card just the .sav files?

Sorry for asking

No, you have to be on latest firmware

Yes you can if you have a gateway card. But you can't connect to eshop. And there are games which require some patch, you can find those in .cia format. Install those and you should be able to play online. I play smash bros on emunand 9.5 and there isn't any problem.

Yes you can go online to play games, no eshop as has been stated. The .sav files are from the 3ds/3dz games on the gateway card. IMCANT tell you exactly where the cia saves are but they are encrypted burruied in the folder structure. You need SDF to get at them.

Yes. Use BBM. You start it with a .3ds file, run it and then use it install the cia file of BBM.

Yeh, I now have both bbms and they run fine, I got the zelda four sword adventure annivesary CIA file and I get a black screen, not sure why
very peculiar....I did however get the 102 themes CIA, deleted 2 then tried the other 100, very nice XD, got 12 3ds roms also :D

It's still safe to use .3dz roms from your own private header of games you own right?
Has anyone been banned for using their own?

You can still play online. You just cannot use services that require you to use NNID.
