What still needs to be done before it can be released (other than adjusting it for different system versions)?

That is pretty much all we need, though it's probably going to be obfuscated as well so Nintendo will have a slightly harder time patching it. Also, it's probably gonna be released around the same time as Relys' homebrew SDK and build system rewrite.

so when we come to having the latest firmware at the same state using the kernel exploit. does this mean everyones gonna be able to hack/mod games while online? not that it interest me to cheat but i wanna no to steer clear of online for that reason

We're working on a new WebKit exploit, and the bug we have seems very viable, so it likely won't be that long. As for online cheating, we haven't reached a consensus on whether we'll bother doing anything to prevent it or not. That's a ethical issue which can be discussed after we solve the technical issues at hand.

That was actually me soft-locking the browser by clicking the wrong bookmark and having to exit

:glare: I figured it wouldn't be as cool as the Twilight Hack, where the game suddenly freezes and all the code goes down the screen. Oh well. Now all we need is a release and the Homebrew can begin.

Sorry, but what exactly is modded in Nintendo Land? The name can be set to anything in-game or to the NNID (not sure) so what's the deal? :P

If you actually played the game, "Hello?" -> "Hello GBAtemp!". That's why the "Hello?" sounds like a question. Also, it specifically says my Mii's name at the start of the video, unless you wanna believe I did some fancy video editing :P
See here at 2:21

Haha, I actually played this game but sold it. I see now, thanks.

Exiting times ahead. :)

I know there is not solid release date and never will be... But just soi can hype myself up even more for this.... If findind a new entry point for latest version shouldnt take too long lets say 2 weeks, then how long would obfuscation take? That way we can estimate ourselves when a release date could likely happen.

would be even more cool if you press on the box and it runs a homebrew channel installer or custom firmware lol. just kidding about obviously. but gd work guys

That would actually be really cool, I get what it would be but I also get why it couldn't work. I'm looking forward to playing as Master Chief again in Smash personally.

Something to consider if that enabling online cheating will result in Nintendo responding/patching much quicker, as it has an impact on all other players...
