Hacking Error Code 002-0102, Have I been banned?

i been playing online MH4U 3DZ using my private header for 4 days straight now and so far no BAN for me too. Maybe private header is SAFE

There are not so many have worthy of being played online. Go and buy the ones you want to play online, no need to be stressed.

Been using a private header on MH4U with Gateway for past couple days, no ban yet.
May buy MH4U for N3DS so I wouldn't have to deal with being possibly banned but does anyone know if its possible to transfer the save I have on my old 3ds? Also, if theres a mandatory update that comes with MH4? Since my N3DS is on 9.0

You guys are playing MH4 wrong. You're supposed to at least wait until you reach HR offline before going online. Don't become OP too early and ruin the game xD.

Hmm. Are you talking about from that forum that starts with an m (I dunno if I'm allowed to say it, but it's not a piracy forum). Because I think I recognize your avvy from there. Are you sure that the guy didn't have a different error code?

Just registered today, but been reading up on a lot of these 3DS/banning/GatewayVsSky threads for awhile now. I think I have a fairly good idea on what I'm going to do.

From what I'm seeing, if I dump the 3DS roms from my carts using the Gateway on an old 3DS, I should be able to play those said roms on my Sky3DS on the N3DS without worries of being banned. Do I have something wrong here? Also, if I dump my own roms, and rename the extension to .3DZ, can those be played online on the Sky3DS without worry? I would think that they'd all be okay as they would have private headers, unless I need to screw around with the Sky3DS template or something. Still learning.

Lastly, if I were to download .3DS roms (no .3DZ online patched versions), would those be safe? I would imagine that if an online capable game like Smash Bros for example was downloaded in .3DS format, it would be fine but no online functions would work, as the extension has not been changed. Don't care about playing the downloaded roms online anyways if it means that they wouldn't result in a banhammer.

Again I'm still learning, and looking for as much information as possible before I start messing with the Sky3DS and N3DS. Thank you all very much!

Maybe he had other error. I have seen many guys in other forums with differents error codes, and they think it is a ban

Uhm, you received a different error code. We had this one before and it was a false alarm. Try to use a different header, chip manufacturer, EmuNAND or something, I'm sure you can fix it.

What was your emuNAND firmware version when playing: 4.5 and 9.5 (both are banned with error 002-0123)

Were you using a .CIA or a .3DZ: .CIA and .3DS

If you were using a .3DZ file, from what game was the header you were you using: .3DS Private header from pokemon gates....

Header Name: e.g CTR-P-AGGE, CTR-P-BALE (these are the two I used when banned) CTR-P-AEHE

If you were using a .3DZ file, was the header public or private:

Can you visit other online Nintendo services such as eShop and Miiverse: yes

Does that ban apply to just that game or every online game you try: thats all games i have that connect to online

I would like to know if there is any other Rom patcher beside Gateway ROM Patcher.
could it be that GW patcher marks the .3ds rom at certain address in the header and Nintendo do check for
that marks and ban every rom that has that marking?

Just got off the phone to them they said the reason was I was using an illicit copy of the game, I asked which game and they couldn't give me anymore info. He said the only thing I could do would be to send over a picture of my entire game collection front and back of both cartridges and then it'll be referred back to Nintendo of Euope.

This isn't exactly a sure way of confirming if the person who has the device now was using illigit games on it.....


what if OP lent his 3ds to a friend? or family member? or sold the original game? people who's NNID are not linked to the device can make up a story of its a new purchase and they cant go online...

not everyone keeps receipts for the things they buy, I know I don't (stupid of me I know)

my point being, Nintendo have no way of confirming it was actually you who played those games on the device, so what point does showing them your game collection have?

if they want the back of the cartridge then I assume there's a serial number or something on it so they can cross ref that number with what they are playing.. in the template file of a sky 3ds game or the information within a 3ds rom( sorry for my lack of terminology here) is the serial number on the back of a card located anywhere within the Rom?

It's also worth mentioning that I used to play pokemon alpha Sapphire with a public header and did some saves injection. However it's been weeks since the last time I played the game.

Well, It doesn't bother me a bit since I was planning on buying the new 3ds anyway. As soon as I get it I'm going to try playing online an original copy of MH4U with my NNID and report back.
