Homebrew Big Red Menu - Legal CIA installer/uninstaller

Both ninjhax and 3DS build cannot access to am:u service i used to create this.
Maybe N3DS users can use it as 3DSX (Cause N3DS has access to am:app), but i've not a N3DS to test...

I don't see why it wouldn't work as a .3ds so long as the right permissions were set, considering BigBlueMenu and DevMenu work fine as .3ds files.

Not really, I think there are some arcane copyright laws that make it illegal to make a copy even if you don't distribute it. (I've broken the law then as I dumped a .3ds of my cubic ninja cart just for kicks)

In Germany/the European Union you are allowed to make as many copies of your games/CDs/etc as you like. AS LONG as you don't share them.

In the US you can rely on the "Fair-Use" agreement.

Are you planning on doing a launcher.dat compiled version? That would be the only way to truly avoid using any of the "illegal" methods

Any chance we could see a launcher.dat file that legally installs the channel the same way it installs cia files? Using go-gw without gw card. Apparently it should have the permissions, like the region free boot loader that uses permissions from DS download being open while using a custom launcher.dat and the go-gw site.

Brilliant, needing the devmenu to actually install it's a necessary evil and a problem for another day I guess. You can't please everyone.
I'm well impressed, I'll be testing it out myself and if it keeps running fine, I'd much prefer it over devmenu. I don't care about the pirating of the devmenu so much, I'd just rather a shinier more streamlined version of it.

Well done, I'm enjoying the cia=backups=piracy argument too

If it does work it'll solve the devmenu requirement. Won't be installed to the homescreen but whatever, I'll give it a crack in a sec unless someone jumps in first.
I'd probably assume he's tried it as a .3ds though...

Yeah, I'll skip trying the .3ds build. If I recall anything before I slept today, I won't have the service required to function.
So sleepy, .cia works well though. Very cool. Just what we needed.

What if the CIA for it is indeed the one I had installed in that 3DS but got lost in a format, would it still boot?
It's the same 3DS anyhow.

Also, how can I make a CIA out of the backed up .bin file?

If it's properly encrypted and is built with your ticket it should work.

DSi titles are installed to your system.
To make the CIA you need the SRL for that title and the ticket from your system. Maybe other things as well, not sure.
