I have stripped it completely down, but i just can't get this cover off. It's to damn sticky. I'll got to bed and try again tomorrow. Ty for the links tho.

Before you reassemble, call around to independent cell/mobile phone repair shops and see if they would be willing to clean it in Ultra sonic bath.
Some jeweler's may be accommodating but need more mom and pop custom jeweler's.

use a damp (not wet) cloth and rub until it becomes less sticky. or you could use a hair dryer on low heat to loosen it (works for glue adhesives, so it could for apple juice?).

Well then selling it is not an option.
I bought a new upper screen, a new shell, and some isopropyl 99 % from ebay now. Was kinda expensive as the cost of the shipping was the same as the screen itself but i can't access that stuff in my countery anyway and it is still cheaper than purchasing an used handheld. Besides ... This is fun r-right?

well you can always phone nintendo and report the console as broken and see if they will transfer your NNID to another console.....it would at least get your NNID unlinked

You really shouldn't need to call bloody Nintendo. It would be much better to just go through some online checks on your computer and entering serial numbers or something of the sort.
But, oh I'm just ranting.

You have a point. There there is a setting when activating your NNID to allow access to your account from other devices. If that was set it may be possible.

Umm...I think you should've start the process of cleaning ithe exterior at least before trying to take it apart.

got to say the shell was an unnecessary expense, once you had it all stripped down you could of just gave the shell a good clean, but really there is no point cleaning it before you take it apart, as its covered inside, so they would still need to wash it all after its disassembled anyway

in regards to the top screen case not sliding open, you could probably just rub some warm water along the edges.....not loads, just enough to loosen the apple juice up on the edge of the case

Well cleaning the outside the best you can would help with how the sticky situation. Things would be so easy to to start removing things rather having them stick to your fingers. I always use circuit board cleaning solution that comes with its own brush. Doesn't damage anything but its doing its job, which is cleaning.

Well it wasn't so much offensive to me, I was just trying to point out that you sounded like a jerk complaining they might update your 3DS after fixing it for you. But that went over your head apparently. Doesn't really matter now, that you voided the warranty...

a warranty only covers manufacturing faults or hardware failure, it doesn't cover accidental damage....yep not even drowning in apple juice

I think that's kinda... well, what's the word?... stupid? of them, no offense. I don't think it's the users' fault if he drowned the 3DS on apple juice while the dog chews on it and the children throw it at some giraffe or something.

yeah that's why insurance exists, a warranty is only to ensure they don't just sell faulty goods, if it covered everything people could just take a hammer to their console every few months for a replacement one....yeah i don't think companies would last very long XD
