I guess you talk about the webkit hack for the WiiU ? well it's a developper "thing" not even a web-developer thing or even a webmaster thing,
but i will assume your knowledge about developing and web developing is limited so...



I know realy good developers that cant download a torrent file propely, its irrelevent to comapre your skills to others...

Having web knowledge is actually required to know how to exploit WebKit, at least I'm some web programming languages.

Thus knowing how your webserver is set up is helpful.

Again if you have a web hosting control panel like CPanel or Webuzo you can install WordPress usually in about a minute.

If you use the Softaculous that's included with Webozo, or even have it installed in CPanel you can install it from a UI with little to no work.

Installing Webuzo takes as little as 3 commands in a Linux shell to install.

Its also all documented on there site.

It's an interesting theory, especially since ninjhax requires a server connection as well. So, definitely possible. Though if it is a server connection, I worry about my 3ds downloading a 9.4 update once connected to wi-fi. Currently waiting on 9.2.

Well you can use one of the methods out there to block connection to update servers. I tried it and it works also pretty simple to set it up. I have my n3ds xl fw9.0 connected to internet and haven't had any problem with the updates and stuff.

Also, I'mma just hop on the "dream" train for a sec, because I actually had a dream about waitway.

I was on my laptop, and the entire site got redone, and the new update was finally released.
Then I woke up.

I had the exact same dream only about 3 times. Each time I woke up grabbed my tablet and saw no update.

There have been theories that the exploit requires a server connection and the fact that it's taking this long to 'fix the server' actually backs up this theory. I mean it's just a website it's up and running. How hard can it be to post some stuff on it?

The server they are referring to is more than just the webpage or firmware.zip download

I find it difficult to believe they can't do a simple setup like Smealum has done, and to say a "team" of people who have a clear understanding of several coding languages can't manage that?

Hogwash, gateway are just filling people's heads with nonsense to make them buy their product before it's ready.

Just accept the fact that the exact date, nor a general date can truly be known, all you have to do is know that it will be done when it's done.

Also gateway know exactly what they were doing by telling people it was coming soon™, haven't any of you heard of Blizzard, and their usage of soon™? They had players waiting years after an announcement of "soon"




We just need to stop everybody thinking "Oh, maybe it's today ?" and just make everybody realise it's not going to be any faster than the time it takes to do it - In short; It's done when it's done, just be relieved when it is actually released.
Just stop defending this clearly shady business, not only are they shady but they're very happy with doing things which are in a "morally grey" area. So if they take off one day and decide to never do anything ever again, well you were told.

There's all of the possibility that the gateway team were in actual fact just baiting lots more people into a purchase so that they could just 'run with the money' as it were, given the wololo article, the sheer numbers of people who would be interested in a gateway post version 4.5 3ds would be a staggering amount of money.


Y'know... Not to bring a huge downer on the subject, but it's entirely possible given their outlook on laws.

To put it into the least, they most likely are just redesigning the site for the new update and preparing guides for all of us to use. Give it some time, making new assets like that takes time.

Maybe because your knowledge is limited, they already do this in the past...they know how to do it......and, lets supose that they have different people working in their web, as a business they cant rely in webmasters that take more than 2 days in doing some thing that take 1 hour or 2....is just update the damn web with the "already finished" software

They aren't even all that much of a business as opposed to people that mass-sell their carts to retailers. They don't do much else for their business in any other regard. As for the web issues, it's unfair to relate the cracking of a 3DS and handling a website. Knowing their site relies on heavy bandwidth when new releases are be announced and that this will probably be the most downloaded, most sought after release, it has to be built to handle that and that doesn't take "an hour or two".

Yes they mentioned it in a wide email copy paste action when ppl were asking when they would release their update. According to that email (which I have too), they r even assuming that its either those imitators or Nintendo trying to bring their website down.
Although to me it seems its merely some gateway or sky3ds members who either got frustrated that the release isnt out yet or who r afraid of gateway to release their update and make sky3ds worthless...

that depends if u need to find a designer who will make beautiful gateway animations/pictures...
A nice made layout and a beautiful picture incl. all the new artifacts which need to be remodelled, can take much more than merely two weeks...

They are going to have to make an idiot proof/ brick free tutorial for all of the gateway noobs, upload it, make sure their server can withstand the traffic. I'm sure there is more to it unfortunately
