With something like the n64 it is much better in the long run to use actual hardware. If you do not want to actually collect the games though, then just buy the system and a everdrive 64 v3 with a SDHC card and you are all set.

Just figured since it was a 1 time payment despite costing a lot that it would help in the long run considering n64 emulation is not perfect like you said but compatibility over convenience should be the bigger priority as far as something like this goes. Plus it does not hurt to go out of your way to have the actual hardware every now and then instead of emulating everything.Well, that's not always a choice or option for people to use, this is an emulation-heavy site, so... Everdrive carts are bloody expensive. Why did you feel the need to say that? Emulators are never perfect, but they're helluva more convenient than spending a crap load on the N64 and Everdrive, just saying.

Did not feel the need to make a separate thread about it since it is still about the n64 emulation or not. Just made a simple comment. Did not think you of all people would get upset enough to reply to it and take it out of proportion like this. No diss to emulation btw, it's just that this emulator is most likely never to get updated ever again.Right, but this isn't exactly the opportune thread to be discussing and is pretty much borderline off topic chat. People will use emulators no matter what, and besides, why can't you make a separate thread about this anyway? The Wii isn't exactly super powerful, they have to optimize it. I get the impression that you're perhaps, maybe indirectly dissing those who take their spare time to program these things, so it seems anyways. This would be better discusses elsewhere on the forums, and not on an emulation thread like this.

Ah ok, i understand. It did indeed get a pretty big speedboost. Next time i will go about this differently. Just wish it still had constant updates like it used to that's all. 1 quick question for you, this may be off topic again though. For the original xbox console you can upgrade the ram in it to get emulators/homebrew to run better on it. Would the same thing be possible for a wii to have that same effect?We don't know that for sure. I'm not upset, I was merely thrown off by the suddenness of the topic that was brought up. The dev already gave Not64 a massive speed boost, to say more work can't be done is a bit..presumptuous.
Wow, this update is fantastic. Many games now play at full speed that didn't before, the first bomberman 64 now plays perfectly, and Mario party 3 works fantastically, this is of course after changing an option or two on the audio and video options. I only have a few small requests at this point:
Allow me to use the home button to go back to the menu like wiisx does
Allow Wii U Pro Controllers
Fix the issue where Wii Pro Classic controllers act as if the analog stick is constantly gently being pushed forward.
Other than those issues though, I am very impressed, compatibility and speed have greatly increased and I love it.

There is 1 that i saw called Wii64 from what i looked up. It is called Wii64 Beta 1.1 Honey.no biggie everyone i'm glad that people are trying to keep emulation alive on these classic systems. was Not64 the only wii emulator or was there a different one?
BTW, since i have both Wii64 and Not64 on HBC, how can i make Not64 look into the same rom directory as Wii64 (sd:/wii64/roms) and the same savegame directory if possible too (sd:/wii64/saves/)?
I opened the /apps/Not64/meta.xml file and i edited the line
<arguments>
<!--<arg>rompath = "[sd,usb]:/path/to/file"</arg>-->
</arguments>
to
<arguments>
<!--<arg>rompath = "[sd]:/wii64/roms/"</arg>-->
</arguments>
but no dice, i must be doing something wrong on my end. Can anyone share some advice?
