Now it is safe to say apart from Nintendo, NO ONE is/will make games for Wii U for the foreseeable future. Although sad I am ok with this as I look at my Wii U not as the main gaming device. I have to mention I am talking about AAA games not indie games...
Now I really do not understand why Nintendo is not announcing a EarthBound saga remake games...! All of the previous EarthBound games on NES,SNES and GBA(according of fact Shigesato Itoi EarthBound 2 was headed to snes and n64 even)were well received and I believe sold moderately well. Considering Nintendo relies on their own property to move console units, I cant understand why they are not making a EarthBound hd collection games for Wii U, or are they...?

This is just freakin' hilarious!
Well anyway, I hope they won't kill Wii U yet. I'm pretty sure it'll sell more this holiday season.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is almost here.

I told him to either learn English or have a grown-up write his posts for him... guess he found an option number 3 .... copy the thread of someone else and insert a few own words

Hah, can I sue him or something?
Anyway, now that I am here, what is so special about the Earth Bound games? People seem to go apes*** over them!
PS: Can you believe I did not get it until I re-read my own post? :D.
Earthbound games : Gamers = 1984 : Bookworms

Aka something that everyone swore to have read/played it but only a few really did.

Where's Earthbound 64? (they cancelled it, but released it on GBA. It has the same engine as Ocarina of Time btw)
Where's Mother 4? (Itoi wouldn't make a new game under the Mother series, he might however work with Nintendo on something else -like the fishing sim-, and Nintendo still has the other talented writers for the Mother games who recently did the SSB4 trophy descriptions)

Where's Fire Emblem Wii U? (They answered this one, said they'd need 850.000 sales minimum to justify making it)
Where's F-Zero? (Miyaomoto said he can't do it since they don't have unique enough ideas for it)
Where's Marvelous Another Treasure Island Wii U? (They retooled the GC version to have the
Where's Advance Wars Wii U/3DS? (The series, starting with the GBA games, while very successful overseas, bombed hard in Japan)
Where's this gen's Nintendo-funded Love-De-Lic game like Giftpia and Captain Rainbow? (the previous ones bombed)
Where's Diddy Kong Racing? (it's rumored to be under development by NDT/Rare, and a big hint is that Nintendo bought one of its characters from M$/Rare back in 2012)

Earthbound was, alongside Fire Emblem/Glory of Heracles Nintendo's attempt to have their own unique RPG new IP series.
Their 2010 games (Takt of Magic, Zangeki no Regliev, Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora Tower) did very well though, and are the focus right now.
That said, they still consider Earthbound as a principal IP. So... maybe?
Stranger things have happened before.

There are lots of games having the Earthbound/Mother series feel, or even surpassing it in some aspects.
But you'd need to learn Japanese for most of them (no fan-translations for most of them, either).
I'd make a list if anyone is interested.

They at least made EarthBound officially available in Europe for the first time with the Wii U VC release, so who knows what they have in mind? I have to say though, EarthBound isn't exactly one of the best known games to go down in history. Just my observation.

Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem on Wii U is happening, though. Not exactly Fire Emblem, but very close and I bet fans of either series are already excited despite virtually no show of what it is.

Where's F-Zero? (Miyaomoto said he can't do it since they don't have unique enough ideas for it)
I kinda thought that statement was ambiguous. It's a fact that Shin'en is making FAST Racing NEO for the Wii U and they've been an official Nintendo 3rd party for a long time so I'm thinking maybe Nintendo is waiting for Shin'en to make its game first to gauge demand. They surely wouldn't want to screw over a good 3rd party that's been making games for them since the Game Boy Advance...

Funny you should mention these two games because they were developed by the same company, Skip. Who knows what they're doing now? (Obviously they recently made the Chibi-Robo shenanigans for 3DS.)

That's somewhat nice of him to not milk it to death but what about Mario? NSMB2 obviously didn't have any new unique ideas, nor NSMBU or SM3DW.. They know people will buy Mario games regardless of how good it is.

Seems unfair that they give Mario and Zelda so much attention and then flip the finger to the rest.

Oh, the 850k sale projection isn't for the SMT crossover. It's for the proper mainline Wii U Fire Emblem game. Info from some interview about the unexpected success of FE:Awakening.

And if you loved Captain Rainbow/Giftpia/Chibi Robo series, you might want to instead go to the source. They were all by ex-Love De Lic devs. Some of their games:

As Love-De-Lic
Moon Remix RPG Adventure PS1
UFO A Day in the Life PS1
LOL Lack Of Love DC

As ex-devs from Love-De-Lic
Endonesia PS2
Chulip PS2 (localized)
Contact DS (meh)
Little King’s Story Wii (the Vita one shares only the IP but none of the original talent)

As ex-devs from Love de Lic heavily involved in Nintendo projects
Paper Mario 1/2/4
Mario and Luigi GBA/DS/3/4
Chibi-Robo 1/2/4
bit.Generations
Giftpia
Captain Rainbow
Tingle Rosy Rupeeland DS (localized, for some stupid reason US poll readers said to NoA to cancel it and they listened)
Tingle Ballon Trip of Love DS (it’s more similar to Marvelous Mouhitotsu no Takarajima and Navi Trackers)

Shin'en also did a Game Boy Color puzzle-game, but it wasn't that good, and it was a German-only release.
I don't think Shin'en and Nintendo's relationship is unprofessional to the point someone would ask another to hand them IPs then storm away from the building angry when their request is refused. (btw what Factor-5 did when they published that Kid Icarus pitch was bad form) For example, Kamiya's initial W101 pitch was with Nintendo characters, and they refused - no strife happened.

Can you fault them? Nintendo has a business to run, if they were to always make new iterations of every IP they own, they'd just lose money on R&D. A new Mario and Zelda game is almost a guaranteed ROI + profits.

New SMB started off on the DS and became a huge success, of course it spawned a sequel for the 3DS. Same with the Wii version. But I wouldn't expect an NSMB3 or NSMBU2. Or whatever.

NICE, I didn't know that. I have catching up to do. Thanks :)

Nintendo could do a 3D version of New Super Mario Bros. as that'd be really cool and get the series' respect to rise.

As opposed to a "let's just blur the background and call it a day" gimmick? :D

Seriously though, where's Custom Robo? That developer hasn't made "noise" in a long time. (yeah, bad pun)
