Oh the MH4 for New 3DS is the Ultimate edition, that's where I got confused.

i thought the new updated game is called mh4 ultimate, but internationally it is just mh4? it has new 3ds specific features, i guessed it just supported the new buttons etc?

Isn't MH4 an exclusive for the New 3DS?

IGN has you covered for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate:
This is looking to be turning out an awesome game but I don't really wanna buy New 3DS just for this game.

You guys are mistaken, MH4G (JPN) or MH4U (US/EU) will work with the old 3DS, it's just that you have a secondary C stick to control the camera.

MH4 will never be released outside JPN because Capcom decided to go with MH4U for an English release which is the updated version.

thanks for setting them straight :D

I don't understand why people have such a hard time with the camera in MH that they have to have a second stick, i just use the L button to centre the camera like in ZELDA: OOT it works perfect.

I guess you don't play any ranged weapons.

I have a problem with this ROM, i put the rom in my gateway's Micro sd, and start the game, but only have a black screen and no more

any solution?

P.d: sorry for my bad english xD :yaynds:

I used to have the same problem. It isn't the size of the SD card, 2GB will work. I can't exactly remember the fix, look into it a bit more but I redownloaded my rom (I mean re dumped it cough) etc. I think you need to reformat the SD and/or microSD card (backup first obviously)
And yeah Japanese games reboot the 3DS upon exiting

Edit: Had a look around, one guy fixed it by deleting MH4 and re copying it to the MicroSD. Make sure to Defrag it too

Edit again: If it doesn't work try this: "[NOW SOLVED Thanks To BEENII :)!!!!]

if you are having the black screen error when loading monster hunter you need to download and format the internal SD card in your 3ds with the panasonic SD Memory Card Tool(backup First) once formatted copy across your data again and the game will launch!!!!

thanks to beenii for testing and figuring it out :) "

Don't f'king defrag your SD cards or your SSD unless you want to shorten their lifespan.

defragging flash memory is extremely useless, because flash memory can read/write at random. And defragging is designed for memory which can't do that (IE: hard discs). It also shortens the lifespan becuase flash stops working after a certain reads/writes as mentioned by justln.

Some of the roms unless pasted correctly of course end up fragmenting though, microSD I mean

Then delete your files, format your SD card but defragmenting? Nobody does that to flash drives.
SD cards, micro SD cards, it's the same thing except for their sizes and they're called flash memory.

Yeah fair enough, didn't click that they are flash like SSDs which I know not to defrag hah
