Hello,

How are you doing today, person who is going to assist to solve the issue I have encountered with my Windows 8.1 computer?

At points, this PC randomly freezes which is only resolved when I restart it by pushing the power button. It also restarts. I can lovingly assure you that the wiring is O.K. and the PC is comfortable.

What are the specifications of this computer, you may ask? Not a bad question. Here you go:

This computer is a ATC-105-EB11 ran on a HP Pavillion 27bw (connected to the HDMI input)

Processor: AMD A10-6700 APU with Raedon HD graphics (8670D)

------
So, HELP ME, PLEASE! Also, am i gonna have to take it to the geek squad people?

You could try opening the Event Viewer and seeing if there's any Windows or hardware events from the time that it froze. Not sure if it'll help any but you can check at least.

Most of the times freezing is associated with overheating (...what a strange sentence...).
Maybe you should make it less confortable and more cool... :D

Other than that i can only think of a virus problem....

Freezing can be caused by HDD I/O failure or memory corruption (the latter causes BSODs). There's throttling by overheating too, but usually the fans go crazy if that's happening.
Random restarts could be a bad power supply or motherboard.

Is this a new system or an old system? Have you made any changes recently? How long has this behaviour been happening?

So lazy to do that, im in my living room, I'll update this post and let you know when i did that.

Eeehee! I love that sentence! But, it's not overheating, it's a new computer, which is almost a week old. Windows 8.1 was installed, and my asshole brother downloaded league of legends saying he wants me to play it or he will make an alternate account on gbatemp posing as me... He also downloaded win rar saying I'll need it. I haven't went on any virusful websites. Only gbatemp, cp24, facebook has been used, including league of legends website and the win rar website.

It's a new system, and it's been happening since windows eight point one was installed. Changes weren't made at all, but I'll look into the power supply thing, can you also dumbify the freezing stuff?

And no offense to the posters, you guys are cute and I'm not gay.

There weren't any events going on since it froze. Updates are automatically installed in this PC but it only installs when I choose to shut down the PC.
Team Fail, if it happens again, which it hasn't so far, I'll do that. I will also change the power supply and see if there is major improvement.
What I am pissed off though, is that no one who assisted me in the thread said how they were when I SPECIFICALLY asked in the post...
New computer doesn't rule out overheating.

Also Wtf are you on about

Indeed, my friend Sicklyboy. However, it has not heated, no weird sounds have been coming from the PC's fan, and the temperature seems O.K.
I'm not sure what's on with me. Ever since I began high school on September 3rd, 2013 I just turned completely weird on the internet. Now that I am entering my sophomore year tomorrow, I have no idea what will happen to me on the internet.

First Thing I would check are the RAM as the Problem you describe is often due to errors in the RAM at least at my work

get some RAM test program and burn it on CD so you can do a check on Start-up.
(if you have faulty ram the system can run without any problem as long as it does not try to write any data into the faulty parts of the ram, and if it does try to do so it will just crash)
At work we use Memtest86+

P.S. is your way of writing usual for Canadians ? sounds really weird to me XD
yeah and I am more or less good today ^^V

"Refreshing a PC"?
I guess I wouldn't know, being a Win XP/7/Linux/OSX user.
Must be windows 8.1 exclusive after a win 8.0 to 8.1.
:P
Glad everything is working out.

Edit : After researching, this is what people suggested : Reloading Windows. Windows 8 brought a built-in "half-reload" function that requires no disc. Sounds great (for those without easy access to reloading material)! Glad it worked

Never mind.
Things did not work out.
I was typing my civics assignment, and everything made me shout. :(
The computer froze. What a dose of disappointment.
It than shut off. Everyone in Lauf heard how upset I was.
What a blaze. I had many pages, many words all gone to waste.
Seems like I'll have to quickly do things haste...
...before everything shuts down again (with continuous saving)

TURN ON AUTOSAVING!!! HOW DID YOU NOT HAVE THAT ON?! ARGH!
Get typing!
If a "refresh" did not work its possibly a hardware issue. If you are 100% its only after Windows 8.1, then uninstall all of your drivers and MAKE SURE THEY ARE COMPATIBLE with 8.1!! 8.1 has many internal changes. If a driver site (like Intel) says "Windows 8" that does NOT include 8.1 unless otherwise stated in an obvious location.

I had Microsoft Office 2013 before I refreshed it. Now I do not. No CD, or anything that has my product key.
I used word pad. It froze again though, so I decided that google will constantly safe my document. I'll just go to geek squad cause I feel like it's a hardware issue, because of the restarting. I have decided to switch to a laptop for a few days.

Do you use a wireless card or usb stick? alot of them can cause windows 8 or 8.1 to lock up when it tries to access the network. I've had the issue myself with both a netgear wireless n stick, and a Roswill pci card from newegg. Most of the time the only way to fix it is to find one thats windows 8 compatible.

If it is not the RAM not the HDD and nothing else ... maybe it is you doing some weird stuff while daydreaming ? ^^V

Well the only Thing that Comes to mind might be that some Drivers are broken or some Hardware is not compatible with whatever ...
I have read online some People complaining about Problems with Raid Controller they bought and build into their System ... (or other Controller Cards ...)

if it is indeed a new computer, then the most logical solution would be to try to return/exchange it if its already causing problems. In the case that you cannot return it, Your particular issue cannot be easily solved. You have to troubleshoot it as in test different things as that problem isn't centered around one particular factor. Check to see if the CPU fan on the heatsink works, Test the RAM, and/or test the power supply for starters.
