I just had a quick question regarding the gateway 3ds cart. Can it play home brew and ds games? I tried searching google but couldn't find anything. I'm buying a 3ds xl 4.4.0 and a gateway card but would like to play ds games and emulators also. Do I need a separate card for that? Thanks in advance for any and all information!

From official retailers you'll get 1 card for running the exploit, which will also run NDS roms, and another card for running 3DS roms.

Yes, you can play both. There's an NES and SNES in heavy development. NES can be installed, now, while the SNES is still in earlier stages and require you to compile it yourself.

For emulators I would recommend the dstwo to replace the blue card provided by gateway. You get much better compatibility and lots of useful bells and whistles the blue card lacks

And additionally you'll get better SNES/GBA emulation than you can with a regular DS mode or 3DS mode flashcart :)

I would say hold out on a Dstwo....the 3dshomebrew scene is picking up, there is already a snes emulator in the works and hopefully gba compatibility gets fixed with gateway and the ambassador games will be playable.....if gba and snes emulation isn't something you really really want desperately. I would say just wait and see how things develop for the 3ds, it might be a while waiting but you might get them anyway
