Evenif the exploit was userland only it could greatly assist in the development of other exploits (which I'm sure will happen eventually), either through a userland exploit or by reverse engineering smealum's exploit methods.

getting back to topic.

i am very excited to have this.

i believe we will have fully working SNES, GBA, CPS1, CPS2, NEO-GEO emulators in time and this is much more important than pirated retail games for me. oh and a good media player would be great too.

before anyone says, yes i have other devices that can emulate these, and i have snes and gba but having a 3ds play these would still be great.

Fully agree with you on this one, GBA emulation would be fantastic. And since the 3DS GPU has OpenGL support (I believe) porting other emulators to it will be extremely easy. IIRC Smealum was planning on doing a port of SDL to the 3DS because of the fact that the 3DS had OpenGL capability.

In addition to his twitter he has an actual blog as well at http://smealum.net/. If you don't know about him, he's the dev responsible for Aperture DS, DSCraft, and a few smaller DS mode save exploits. If you have the time, his 3DS exploit post is definitely worth the read.
