Well, Im afraid I dont have the skills to do it and tell the results "for sure". I figured that maybe the catsfc's author(s) could answer to that.

Perhaps it was in previous versions or I might have mixed it up with TempGBA.
And I said, "I think", which implies that I wasn't sure about this.
No need to act like an ass.

Hello, I have a question.

I've read at some point on this topic that European PAL games were emulated with 16,66 FPS while US games were emulated at 20 FPS.

Is this still true nowadays, even with the latest CATSFC ? Meaning I can expect higher FPS if I choose (let's say) for example an US DKC2 over a european one?
That is true.

I had to make the emulator skip 3 frames at a time, otherwise it would crackle the audio output or refuse to handle button presses for up to 5 seconds every so often.

Those are Supercard SDK bugs.

Hello. Cross-posting from another thread because I've been told the other one is pretty old:

I am trying to get CATSFC working on my DSTwo card and having no luck. My DSTwo card arrived today, and I downloaded the DSTwo software from supercard.sc, version 1.11 from here:

http://down.supercard.sc/download/dstwo/DSTWO_v1.11_2012_1224_eng.zip

There's a link on the left to download a patch here:

http://forum.supercard.sc/thread-7517-1-1.html

...but I don't think I need this, right? It seems to be a patch to update compatibility for DS games.

Anyway, I have the DSTwo software installed okay, it works (I tried a few roms). I then downloaded CAT SFC and did the following:

- Put catsfc.plg, catsfc.ini and catsfc.bmp in _dstwo > plug folder
- Put the CATSFC folder in the root of my memory card, next to the _dstwo folder
- Put a few SNES roms with .smc extension in CATSFC > gamepak

I then turned on my DS and booted up DSTwo. On the menu, I see the following two folders:

0..android_secure/ (not sure why, this is empty)
CATSFC

I then go to the CATSFC folder and then into the GAMEPAK folder. I see a list of my roms, but when I hit A to start any one of them, nothing happens.

Any ideas as to where I may have gone wrong? Do I need to download that patch? I now have the file, but not sure where to put it.

Thanks.

The android_secure map is a remnant of your phone's µSD card, which you are using in your DSTWO.

Back up only the things you think are necessary.

Reformat the µSD card with the panasonic sd formatter.

Now reinstall the DSTWO EOS properly, no need for the patch as the patch is older than the software and therefore is already included in the latest version.

Now install the latest version of CATSFC the way it is written in the README.

Put the games in the CATSFC Games/gamepak folder.

Run CATSFC from the plugin menu select a game and run it.

Had a look around on my microSD right now. Only difference between the two of our's is that I have an unzipped folder called "32164-catsfc'' in _dstwoplug. As far as I can tell that's the only thing, anyway - have more than one emulator so I'm not positive whether something else is CATSFC-related. Dunno what that 32164 folder is.

Did you unzip the SNES roms?

The 32164 is a number added by filetrip to the zip file CATSFC was in.
You probably unzipped it into your _dstwoplug folder, then moved the CATSFC files to the upper map , i.e. _dstwoplug.

Thanks for this. I formatted the SD card and did everything over and couldn't get it to work...then realised what the issue was. The readme said to:

To install the plugin to your storage card, copy `catsfc.plg`, `catsfc.ini` and
`catsfc.bmp` from the release archive to the card's `_dstwoplug` directory.
Then, copy the `CATSFC` subdirectory to the root of the card.

I thought this meant to put those files in the 'plug' folder with was in the _dstwo folder. Couldn't get it to work. I then created _dstwoplug in the root and stuck the files in there, and it then worked!

Just had a little play of Donkey Kong Country, running pretty smooth compared to SNEMUL which I used back in the day.

Thanks again.

Guys, I need your help, because I dont know if the CATSFC has any kind of hard overwriting on one ROM

Basically, I was playing Lufia II on the snes9x TYL, the PSP emulator. But one day my PSP died, and I had to change to another PSP. But still could save the important data.

So I had a SuperCard DSTWO, with the CATSFC emulator, and copied the Lufia ROM from the PSP memory to the CATSFC. Strangely, when I did that, the ROM would load in the last saved spot using the game´s own saving fuction. That is, the Flower Mountain.

So basically I expected to load the ROM from the beginning of the game, and then it loaded a saved state - which, remember, was from the time I saved the game in a Save Game point in Flower Mountain. So I was able to continue the game from that point.

Some time later, I got a new PSP, applied the correspondent CFW, and put in my old Memory Stick. So I was able to use the far superior SNES emulator from the PSP. But when I transfered the ROM file from the DS to the PSP, the game wouldnt load to the last save point I recorded in the DS playtime (I got to another run in the Ancient Cave in Gruberik, with Arty in the team, that is far after the save point in the Flower Mountain) I´ve tried messing up with savestates and such, but nothing worked. In the PSP the Lufia II ROM would display the Saved state in Flower Mountain, while in the CATSFC emulator in the DS would dispplay the latest save point in Gruberik.

So, does anyone know what the hell happened with the save state of my Lufia ROM? It somewhat overwritted the ROM using the SNE9x, but it doesnt seem to work using the CATSFC. What to do?

Can someone help me with getting cheats to work? I've read the directions a bunch of times and have never been able to load cheats in CATSFC. I downloaded the BSNES Cheat code pack, then I dragged the cheat files from the "BSNES v0.51-0.74 Cheat Code Pack" into separate folders within the "gamecht" folder. See the attached screen shot. When I load up a game in catsfc and go to the cheat menu, I'm able to see the list of cheat files. But when I select the correct one for my game, it just goes back to the "load cheat file" menu without displaying any pages of available cheats (still says "none loaded here"). Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?
