Battle Mode is horrible. Barely anyone plays that shit.

Nintendo really needs to release DLC Battle Mode stages for free because they should be ashamed of the shit they included originally in MK8.

Battle mode is awful offline but amazing online, i really enjoy playing it against people online. Its like a mix of playing "chicken" and just setting traps like banana's near item boxes or firing green shells everywhere. Occasionally you do find that its hard to find people but it is nice replay fodder with good item hits. Look at my long range green shell hit here!

I've unlocked the full roster but MK8's got one of the worst rosters filled with Baby-forms, Metal-forms, Bowser's family members and then a few interesting characters like Rosalina and Mii Player.

Also checked and this month alone I played MK8 for 27hrs so far. The game's pretty damn addictive, although mostly when played online.

The Koopalings are honestly more interesting then Rosalina who looks basically like a reskinned Peach.

I've got two questions:
1) How can I store the items behind my vehicle? I read about moving the left stick to the left and then pressing L but the damn item goes flying.
2) How can I get the Gold Kart?

coins required: 0! how to get: get at least 1 star in all cups, all racing classes. thats how you get that!

So I was playing on the Dynamic Cup Tournament with 150 points and then realised at that point I always ended up in 1st place to the 4th, but I could've been on the 11th had I not drove at all.

The bike which I use looks pretty lame but it's one of the fastest vehicles in MK8.

Whoa! I finally made use of the Super Horn as it saved me from getting hit with the Blue Shell just before passing the finish line!

Last month I tanked 30hrs into it, this month let's see.

They really need to fix the item drop rates in this game, its ridiculous. 1st place drop rate:

50% Coin
20% 1 Banana
20% Single green shell
5% Single mushroom
5% Super horn

Anyone ever got triple banana or any other items in first place? I get that you cant give stuff like golden mushrooms, lightning or redshells. But surely the boomerang or bob-omb's should be included? Even if the drop rate is low. They also need to get rid of blooper item, it was a great item originally but with the sheer ammount of boost pads on MK8 (they cancle it out) it becomes one of the most useless items in the game. Especially online.

Its good they got rid of some of the more anoying items in the game (like the racoon tail) but Im finding im missing alot of other items like Boo / Fake item box. I wish they could bring them back with dlc

The blooper still is somewhat annoying as this time around it literally makes it quite hard to see the road ahead whereas in the others it was kinda easy to see, but once I hit under water it vanishes away. Although, since I already know all the tracks the blooper doesn't make it too hard it's just annoyin'.

The item box was honestly kind of shit. It was basically just another banana that did not protect you from shells.

Nintendo needs to make the map visible on the TV because no one during a race is going to look down at the GamePad. I usually press the X button to check if there's anyone behind me to stay alert and hit them with a shell or banana if possible.

Mario Kart isn't just about speed, it's about having a strategy to stay in first place.

I haven't touched the game in weeks. Probably should have figured people's lack of having a Wii u makes it lackluster to play with random online people and not with friends. Plus, it's still more of the same and hasn't held my interest outside of the first couple weeks.

Ah well, I'll most likely trade it towards Hyrule warriors or Bayonetta when there's a promotion for them.
