People were "told numerous fucking times" NOT to update their wii. Did they listen?
People were "told numerous fucking times" NOT to update their 3ds (off of 4.5). Did they listen?
People were "told numerous fucking times" NOT to update their idevice ( or they would lose jailbreak or untether).Did they listen?
etc

Instead they update and then spend time BaM(Bitchin' and Moanin') that they updated. Absolutely no personal responsibility.
No one HAS to update. They choose to update. If you choose to update, you(personally) should be able to undo your update. If you haven't backed up the required chip(s), not anyones fault but your own. Just accept the responsibility and move on.

BaM?...are. you trying to make that..a trend?

I did tell people not to update to 5.0 but meh...

Well, it's not the only webkit exploit out there and you can always update ROP addresses to get this one to work.

arent you the guy that pretended he could hack over 3.55 on ps3 and then was proven to be a fake the whole time? (though, i know you are very knowledgeable and skilled, i just dont get why after that anyone should listen to you.)

EDIT: i was a bit wrong, you were just trolling helpful people like kakarotos instead of actually providing useful information for him to use

Proven to be faked ? by whom ? I saw a lot of people, like Kraparoto (misspelled this on purpose) who claimed me to be a fake to fulfill their own agenda, yet showed no proof whatsoever, other than some fancy blog post.

A post on the whole matter is here:

(lan.st is down so that link will not work, the exploit however is referenced on the ps3devwiki
here : http://www.ps3devwiki.com/ps3/Dumping_Metldr )

Oh ! and there is that too :

P.S. I don't get why I have to explain myself to you.

I'm pretty SURE that Nintendo will NOT patch the Exploit.. because they want to sell lots and tons of Wii U... and if the people discover that Wii U is now hackeable they will run to the stores.. (same story with Wii) so, dont worry xD
Yeah, no - that's not how it works. If Nintendo (or any other company) would want their consoles hackable, they'd sell them hackable out of the box. Moreover, it's far more profitable to sell software than to sell the actual consoles that play it. :rofl2:

I'm rather surprised you're calling it quits since

If this is the case, compiling this exploit should be a walk in the park.

I'm not saying I could myself, I'm still learning this kind of stuff, but it'd eventually be something I'd like to do and be able to do.

I'm not giving up, never said I was, it was very late when I was trying to compile it, so I was just super tired and was going to bed. Couldn't wrap my head around it, it was 1:30 am here and I had a long day at work lol. I will look at it next chance I get lol

There is a PS3 section...

ON TOPIC: I have updated to 5.0 on the words of 2 reputable sources (mostly for my free game), but I am not mad. This exploit is in it's infancy. They still need to write programs that utilize the exploit like homebrew/USB loaders, emulators, and such. By the time we actually have these I'm pretty sure the ROP will be fixed for 5.0. There is no need to panic, yet.

Dude, calm down. Crediar himself said there will still be an exploit available to be used if you updated to 5.0.0 and don't update to anything past that and if you block the Nintendo server. I take his word over anyone else's. The exploit code's gonna be retrofitted to work with 5.0.0, that's all. Crediar and Marionumber1 are reputable and know what they're talking about, they said it's safe to update to 5.0.0, but they also said if you update past that system number, you may or may not screw yourself completely.

Just look at the Ouya, it basically disappeared from existance :P

well, I'm not so sure that the code would be easily compatible with 5.0, is it so simple than that ? just a few memory blocks to change ?

Again, read what Crediar has said on other threads, he knows what he's talking about and the code can be retrofitted, just don't update anymore.

Its just a matter of changing memory addresses nothing more. If you update your console past 5.0.0 then this exploit will likely be patched. Then we will need to find another way in for those people.

Exactly. Funny thing is, people can still play games online when you blacklist the Nintendo update server, so it's win-win for many people. It's these two?
nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net
nus.wup.shop.nintendo.net

These block the system from updating, but still allow you to play online, correct? That's what I heard anyways, and yes, I can access the router since I'm and admin for it, so I just add away :P

Side Note: I plan on (once I get this exploit compiled properly), making a public website that runs the exploit so people who aren't familiar with coding can simply point there Wii U browser at it (assuming their on the right firmware) and have the exploit run automatically.

I did some playing around and a lot of pinging and what I got to block for IPs was http://pastebin.com/Sg3zEUWF
Though I'm pretty sure it was those last 3 IPs (96.17.161.145, 184.50.229.137, 184.50.229.158) that stopped the auto updates. HOWEVER: All I notice that's different is that when I click on system update, it immediately says the system is up to date every time, which means that it's not able to take the time to check, so I assume it's blocked. The reason I don't have nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net on that list is that the shitty web GUI for my router doesn't let me put in that long of a website name.

*Sees Wii U exploit, gets happy*
*Relies that its a leak, gets mad*
*Notice that its based upon a webkit exploit, gets really happy*
*notice the Linux stuff, back to mixed mood*
*Calls doctor to ask if this is pms*

Seriously now, the leak has happened and its to late to do anything about, lets instead look into creating something useful of what we got,
The code is indeed very well documented and as several people has stated v5 is safe.
So hypothetically speaking we should start by looking where it fails on v5 and start working from there.

Lets make the best out of what we got!

My friend have try it with apache for windows , it say the index.html show a skull and a little music start.

IF u try that, remove internet from your intranet or wiiU start update with 4.1
