I know this has probably been asked and answered. I tried searching, but this forums search is a hunk-o-junk.

So, I was wondering, is it possible to have english text with a japanese game backup, do any include the english text option in them or would it somehow need to be modded in (and if that's the case, is that possible). Thanks.

For future reference: typing "site:gbatemp.net" in Google along with your query returns only results from that site (in this case, gbatemp)

As games are usually released in JP first before they're translated/localized, they do not include any official English text (most of the time). There is also no current public way to mod in different texts, though there was a thread / video on a Chinese forum a while back where they managed to redirect certain files (specifically game text files) to run from the SD card.

Nice tip, thanks.

That's unfortunate, hopefully something substantial will pop up, there are some good JAP console exclusives I'd like to try. Thanks.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
