Class matters more than brand when it comes to speed on SD/MicroSD cards. The file size being what it is for the launcher, however, I don't think any card is going to make a difference in the boot speed of emuNAND. Not a noticeable difference, in any case. It's the 3DS' processor that is holding up the system for those few seconds.ive bought a sandisk extreme uhs 16gb sdhc for the 3ds. do faster cards boot emunand faster?

I have no interest in estore or online stuff. Never setup WiFi on my 3ds so no worry about updates. As long as all the games work I'm happy without it.
Just keep in mind that at least the Pokemon update (which requires eshop access) fixes a game breaking bug

I disagree. I had toshiba 8 GB class 4 GB SDHC. Prior to, I had the stock Sandisk 2 GB class 4 (presumably card). I am now on a MicroSDHC + SD converter Class 4 Sony 32 GB card. Though all were the same class, loading times were significantly different. The original 2GB card had fair loading times, taking up to a few seconds 5-7 at times). While that may sound bad, the Toshiba class 4 I was using had horrendeous load times (8-24 seconds of load times, it was unbearable). Lastly, the card I have now, the 32 GB Sony Class 4--load times are amazing. It takes two to three seconds, tops, and all the data from eShop loads almost instantly.Class matters more than brand when it comes to speed on SD/MicroSD cards.
