I think you should be able to play it on the firmware that is equivalent to Gateway's 2.0b1, which doesn't contain brick code. 2.0b1 is just a bit unstable.

Hello, he who jumps space : ) thanks for your help, are you referring to firmware V2.0? Cos they only have that or 3.3B (which is what I'm currently using) on their main website : /

I don't know which one it is, but there is one 3DS Link firmware that is basically Gateway 2.0b1. I don't have a 3DS Link so I don't know which one.

this is where Wiki becomes useful ;)

Look at 3DSLink page, and I listed the correspondences with Gateway 3DS.

R4i / link / orange -> based on GW
2.0 -> v1.2
3.0 -> v2.0b1
3.1 -> v2.0b2
3.2 -> v2.0b2 mod (attempt to fix savegame deletion issue (anti-clone feature from GW?). Not safe to use)
3.3 -> v2.0b1 mod (downgraded to 3.0 and patched version to 3.3, to prevent brick issue (Anti-clone feature from GW). Safe to use, but prefer 3.0)
3.3b -> v1.2 (downgraded back to 2.0 without applying any patch, to be safe and stable, 3.0 is safe but unstable)

"Oh, if I buy an MT-Card instead of a Gateway, I'll save money." Until you have to buy an updated cartridge, that is.

Hmm. I guess it's a translation error, then. A native English speaker would probably read "new hardware version" as a new physical item, but I guess that's not the case.
I think that he ment that and I answered to that question. It doesn't matter if the team leaves the scene or if there is a new revision.
But it's not necessary to buy a new card for this update.

Apologies if this has been dealt with already, but I didn't find it. I have a DS Lite with an old Cyclo DS. Can I use that old card with the Gateway'ed 3ds? Or do I need to transfer the stuff on it over to the blue card. If I need to transfer, is it the same process as directly from the PC, or did the old card "alter" things so that I'd be better off just reacquiring them? Anyway to transfer saves, etc?

I have a question about Gateway and emunand. I recently updated to 2.1 omega and now i want to set up an emunand but i heared that with omega when you are at emunand it doesn't show as GWD-FW at system settings. Is this true? If it is, can/should i create emunand with 2.0b1 and update to fw7.xx w/o red cart?

You can use any DS card that still runs on your 3DS to run the .nds exploit installer.

Sorry, what I meant is that, now that GW 2.1 is fully installed, can I just insert the Cyclo and play the games on it? Or do I need to move all that stuff over to the blue card?

    I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.
