To be fair, we've head Sony announce 2TB Memory Stick XC's ages ago and haven't seen any since... so 128 GB isn't all that impressive. :P At least it's being released though, which is great. :yay:

They didn't "announce" it, they published the specifications for the MS XC standard, and 2TB is the theoretical limit. The SDXC standard also supports up to 2TB too, so you could say we've had the SD Association "announce" 2TB SDXC cards as well.

Hmm... I was convinced that the 2TB stick was actually presented somewhere, my mistake.

I actually want one of these for my phone. I do regular nandroid backups (I'm rooted and running a custom ROM), and those things are pretty huge. Even when I get rid of my old ones, there's a ton of space taken up on my 64GB MicroSD with those backups, plus my phone's HD videos and other things.

I've wanted a 128GB for a long time now.

We would have the higher cards and probably 2tb by now if the earth quakes wouldn't have caused the closure of at least 6 of the flash memory plants in japan. Same reason the 32gb hasn't dropped to an average price of 9.99 USD by now.

good news, this is one benefit android has over ios, android doesn't not have limited storage space and the storage is expandable, would be a dream to have 128gb on my note 2 phone or even my tablet.

let's see normally 3DS/Flash carts can only hold up to 32GB TF cards any higher and they're in a different FS format (exFAT I do believe) and is extremely tricky to format to FAT32 anyways I'd be set for life for my 3DS for digital gaming (the only game I really have is Awakening though (I have a class 4 16GB btw)

The motherboard would have to be able to support it. It's actually been pretty recent since 64 gb sd cards were supported.
