Do you own a Wii U?

Yes, I've only got like 2 games for it though. There are a couple of games I'm looking forward to and I might even buy some more of the current games after a price drop or something.

guess we have proven that this person who claims that "only 10-15 people own a Wii U on this forum" is wrong.
but it's fun to read what all you guys think about it aswell.

Where's the Option of 'I had one but I sold it'?

Actually I have bought 2 Wii Us. The Launch one and the Zelda one and sold both of them.

Yeah that's right, someone said that only 10 to 15 people on this forum owns a Wii U console.

Taking that number literally is like getting offended when someone says a movie sucks, not because you disagree, but because at no point did the movie act like a vacuum.

Also, the problem with a poll like this on a site like this is that this is a pretty heavily Nintendo-skewed website. Even if the numbers are high, the results are practically meaningless; it's not going to represent the population as a whole.

Except that the express purpose of the poll was for this site and not the population as a whole.

Even then, we're on a site with 300,000 or so members. It'd be quite a leap to take these results and apply them to the site as a whole.

Also, why are there so many options in the poll? It's a yes or no question; even if you intend to buy a Wii U in the future, if you don't have one now, then "No" is the answer. The "I'll never get one" option is especially redundant. At most, the options should be Yes, No, and Other.

Another Wii U owner here.
Only got a handful of games and VC, but softmodded Wii mode is more than worth the price of admission in itself! Not quite as customizable as the Wii itself there perhaps, but running through HDMI, well you just can't go back on a big TV with that... Plus that Gamepad is fantastic for off-screen play/VC (and who knows, maybe one day we might get button support in vWii - if that happens I may never need to buy another console again to be honest!)

Also got a PS3 with Plus, and a 360 since launch with probably 200 games.... and if I had to sell 2 of the 3 consoles I'd keep the Wii U, no question! (Also got an Xbox One, but I've been that impressed with that I let my youngest take it into his room before Christmas and haven't even bothered bringing it back downstairs yet  )

Votet for "Other".

Nintendo was nearly always a part of my life. But to be honest: There are just not enough good reasons to get one now. What really matters, are the exclusive titles.

For me:

Zombi U
Super Luigi U
The Legend of Zelda - Wind Waker HD
Super Mario 3d World

and Mario Kart 8 and DK Tropical Freeze in the near future. But none of them is sooooo hot, that i'am willing to spend 299 Euros for the Console, and 39 - 59 Euro for each title.

I'am also a picky collector, i'am owning nearly every other Nintendo System, so the Virtual Console is completely useless for me. The System is also "hard-to-collect-in-perfect-condition"... the glossy surface of the system and the controller is a scratch-magnet. A Wii or Wii U used by a "normal" user looks like shit after a short period of time.

The The Legend of Zelda - Wind Waker HD - Bundle is nice i guess, maybe i pick it up in the Future, if no better Limited Edition Bundle comes out. Have to find a silicon case for the controller in any way  - I hate it when companys use this cheap glossy "scratch-magnet" plastic for their devices :glare:

I bought a Wii U when they were clearing out the 8 gig models for $238 total thinking Team Wiikey woulda come through, and eventually bought Wonderful 101 and Super Mario 3D World. I figure those two games plus the eventual Wii U gamepad PC functionality justify paying for a Wii U

Oh, didn't realise you wanted to know our thoughts on it.

For me, it's not my main "next gen" console, i purchased the Wii U for my first party fix, and have no regrets making the purchase, especially when Mario Kart 8 gets released.

first of all: I did not get offended so no, you are wrong. I merely wanted to know if we could climb a larger number than 10-15, if there was any truth to what he was saying. I saw in an other thread that others were discussing about it.

second: the results are totally meaningful, it gives us a sense of how many people who are active reading and writing on the forums have a wii u.

I could definitely choose Yes, No, Other instead of the redundant options, I agree with this. But now someone already choosen some of them, I feel I'll let them stay there.

Yep, got it for Christmas. Wind Waker edition. If you wanna get technical it belongs to my 10yo daughter. Doesn't stop me playing on it though.

I never said you were offended; you might want to reread that post. The point was that it's silly to take the number literally when it was not meant to be literal in the first place.

i think the OP wanted to know who owned a WiiU as someone suggested that not many ppl on the Temp do.. If you want to make more of it that it actually is ,, then keep on keepin on Gahars.
