Firstly, i'd like to say that i plan to eventually buy all four games. However, as of now i only plan to buy two of them.
Now for some info:
  • I've played a few SRPGs before, i have spent time on them and i have mixed feeling about them. When fully in the mood, i can spend hours on them, but the rest of the time, they're not really my "go to" games. Kinda wanna try get into them more.
  • I really enjoy the zelda franchise but saying "it's a zelda game, you have to own it!" isn't really something i count as a valid point.
  • i haven't played Link to the Past.
  • I really do enjoy all forms of RPGs and don't mind grinding. ( Old school Final Fantasy, Golden Sun ect FTW :D )
  • I haven't played the original Luigi's Mansion. Number 2 is on the list as it looks like a good pick up and play for when bored.
  • The price of the games don't matter as they all come to the same price due to getting them as a download :/
I'm looking for games that will give me as many hours as possible as i love long games. Would also prefer it if they require using the brain, to put it bluntly. Other than that, just want your opinion. I would appreciate it if you guys could rank them too :P

1. Play ALTTP first: It's much longer and more difficult (not too difficult, just not as fucking easy...). Get it for DS/GBA/SNES/WII/EMU first!
2. I haven't played BD much, but its already a lot more bang for your buck (length, content, difficulty, etc etc etc)
3. Haven't played LM2 yet, but I heard its pretty short, so again: Less bang for your buck
4. Don't know anything about the new fire emblem, so can't say how it compares...

So my vote goes to Bravely Default! Other ones, I dunno

LM2 is great if you like the online, if not it's pretty short. (Still a good game though)

ALBW was a great game, but again it was short. Not too mention it felt way too easy. Generally I suck at these kinda games, but I didn't even die once ._.

BD is my game of the year 2013. I just couldn't put it down until I finished it and the job system is awesome. So much combinations to try~*is doing a second run just because*

FE:A was really good, but if you want to use your brain please play on hard or lunatic with classic mode. I also had to take a few breaks in between because it felt too much of the same at times.

From my own experience with the games I would order them as:
1. Bravely Default
2. Fire Emblem: Awakening
3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
4. Luigi's Mansion 2

looks like Bravely default is defo going to be one of them.
When people say the zelda game is short, are we talking miniature cap? or the DS games short?

people said about 10 hours to go through the game. and after that you can play the whole game again in super difficulty which doesnt count to me. so yea pretty short. my suggestion is if your getting bravely get something different like luigi not fire emblem cause youl have two turn based rpgs. Need something to chill :)

Bravely Default is much like the older Final Fantasy titles. I personally can't stand those and got bored of the BD demo within about 30 minutes. It is a pretty long game from what I've heard though. On the other hand, I absolutely loved Fire Emblem Awakening and spent about 45 hours in that just on Normal mode. If you want a bit of a challenge it's probably better to set it to Hard though, yeah. Lunatic is kind of ridiculous IMO (tried it a few times and died on the tutorial) and then there's a difficulty above that that's just broken hard. Zelda is very good, but kind of easy and not that long - 10 hours to complete the story or something? Dunno. Luigi's Mansion 2 is also really good. It's pretty easy for the most part, but collecting all the jewels requires solving some interesting puzzles and getting three stars on everything and finding the boos is going to take quite a while. It's longer than Zelda, but still not that long.
Honestly though, as long as a game is good, play time shouldn't be THAT big a factor. It's either worth buying or not, and while play time is a part of that, it's not the only thing that matters.

neither the temples are complicated, nor is it difficult to move around, beat the bosses or solve any puzzle at all. Additionally, there is nearly no requirement to get into any dungeon or solving it (e.g. get certain item first), as you can get nearly all items very early in the game (very different from all other Zelda games!). Few are missing and aside from optional upgrades, none of these add greatly to the length, content or gameplay of the game (you know, necessary upgrades such as swimming and such).
Aside from some mini games, there are no trading quests and the likes. Nearly nothing that adds value and gameplay to the main story... Just a lenghty collectathon to upgrade items... Nothing that truly adds story, depth or gameplay.

The story itself however is good. Short, but good.

Minish Cap is better despite being pretty short and lacking new ideas as well...
For comparison, I'd say that ALTTP is at least twice the length of ALBW, especially if you go 100%!

That being said, I have to note, that the best Zelda games are those, with as little Zelda in them as possible: MM and LA. My favorite of all time y3

First of all get Fire Emblem Awakening, after that you can do whatever.
Easily my top 3DS game to date (that I've played).
Never played FE before, as I'm not really into RTS so I didn't think I'll like it.
This game showed me just how much I can be wrong.
Bought it out of impulse, fell in love. That's all.

I was thinking about buying LM2 a while ago. Rented it and played for an hour, then dropped it out of boredom.

I've gotten several hundred hours out of Fire Emblem already, definitely one of my favorite games of 2013. Link Between Worlds and Bravely Default are also excellent games.

In conclusion, I'd say Fire Emblem for sure, and either LBW or BD.

Play Luigi's Mansion on GC and skip the the second one, its weak.
Try the Demo of Bravely Default first, i couldn't get into the battle system.
Zelda idk, some like it some not, nothing special for me.
Fire Emblem only if you like the series, for me its nothing special(again).

Mario Kart 7 is a hell of a game. GET IT

The game that i'm waiting for is Rune Factory 4, that series is really underrated. The graphics look "Bad" but the gameplay is awesome in it.
And SMT games are pure awesomesauce.

The only decent game you have up there is Fire Emblem. But I strongly suggest you move outside of your list and explore other titles.

Tough choices. I personally would recommend A Link Between Worlds. Fire Emblem and Luigi's Mansion are also very good.

Not necessarily. I don't really like Fire Emblem. Or SRPGs in general. Or RPGs in general. But Awakening was freaking awesome.

I've heard numerous reports of people saying that the demo doesn't represent the game very well at all, so you might want to keep that in mind before judging it.

DON'T buy Fire Emblem.
DON'T buy Bravely Default.
DO buy Luigi's Mansion.
DO buy Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

The first 2 suck. [gets shot in the face]

i guess it's backwards day, the two games he said don't buy are definitely the ones you should buy.
