Your SD can only get corrupted if/when your writing data on it.
So if you are about to run the launcher, and have recently written new data on ur SD card, then you have to make sure that the checksum hasnt changed before running the launcher.

So that would be check it every single time before you run the exploit, considering gateway access and writes to the SD card (save files) after you finish using it.

What if something just stops working? What if the cart reads something wrong because of a software bug? What if the hardware just decides to fail?
there are many reasons not to trust it. Seriously, its a loaded weapon. It may shoot, or maybe not. But it's there, loaded, waiting for a mistake to break your 3ds.

Yup basically. It sucks, i know.
But it has to be apart of your routine now if you want to be extra safe, SD card in PC,check checksum, SD card in 3ds, Run launcher and play.
Luckily i play my 3ds at home so i always have a pc nearby.

BTW, i just did a checksum of my launcher.dat and its.
SHA: 3508a54dd3b1ff903fbf18ecf97b075205b67d0c

MD5: 6361c5d4935af6d888ffc0646548f5dd

Hopefully someone else can put up their checksum so we can guarantee this is the correct checksum.

Actually I am surprised that gateway thought about this too. However, now that I know this I'm not buying it by any means, unfortunately. I'll wait for a safe flash card to put on my 3ds.

Nachtrag:

Auch Normatt's Launcher ist nicht 100% sicher! Die haben mehr Brick-Code eingebaut als gedacht.
It is roughly translated to:
Normatt's launcher is also not 100% safe. They[GW Team] put more Brick-code into their launcher than it was thought.

I personally support this idea gateway had for anti-clones, but yeah its definitely poor execution.
If an SD card fails, the user is fukt

Probably the MT-Card is "safe". It's very unlikely that their launcher is based on 2.1 (since they don't even have EmuNAND).

Post here

http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_fo...Screen-Causing-Bricking?p=1668674#post1668674

is showing the same checksum as you.

And screw that. I'm going back to b1. I'd rather the occasional grey lines (only prob I had with it), than sitting on a potential timebomb.

I got this checksum:
MD5 (Launcher.dat) = 6361c5d4935af6d888ffc0646548f5dd
GW_BETA_RELEASE_2.0b2

OH! That's even worse! There is no way to run the latest update without having the risk of killing your 3ds beyond repair. I'm soooo not buying this cart.

Yup, thats what i got.
Update my post with both SHA checksum and MD5 checksum.

And seeing how both of them matched (yours and the post by armadillo) this is the correct one.

Thread starter should add it to the OP.

so ppl who used a cloned card and non official firmware and Launchers brick there 3ds and they blame gateway.............why lol ? 1370372176253.jpg

I was about to order one for myself, but I think I'll wait a little while after reading this. I'm not really comfortable with a potential time-bomb in my 3ds, and I don't want to endorse these sort of tactics.
I can understand wanting to protect their work, but this is just punishing the wrong people.

Hopefully a safe option will come forward after the dust settles.
