good deal going on at the walmart near me but what firmware does it have anyone know?

Want to get this and a gateway

my guess it atleast 6.3.
my zelda ALBW 3ds xl bundle came with 6.2 i belive and this came after it i think(or arround the same time) so you wont be able to use a gateway on it

try this link, half way down the page it has info on what 3ds has firmware <= 4.5.0

thank you all soo much i think im just going to have to go to walmart and see if i can peak at the serial numbers on top and see if i can get a old one these bundles all seem to have newer firmware

I have that exact 3DS, it came with 6.1 firmware.

BMinkie, when I looked on eBay yesterday, there was at least 5 brand new 3DS XLs under 4.5 and 1-2 used XLs under 4.5.

All were located in the US. Your best bet would be buying one of those instead of trying your luck in a shop.

the mario and luigi dreamteam bundled 3DS xl was just released in December 2013, probably no chance of getting one that has 4.5 or lower firmware.

Walmart works just fine since you can look at the serials through their glass cases. Most 3DS XL consoles bundled with games these days are going to be more recent than 4.5, though. Your best bet is the red, blue, or pink standalones. Got my blue/black at Walmart with serial SW1271XXXX and it came with 4.5.0-10U.

This bundle came after golden Zelda edition so don't expect less than 6.2

Walmart does not have a policy about displaying 3DSes in the glass case with the serial numbers viewable. Why do people keep saying this? It all depends on the random employee and how he or she decided to arrange them.

The only thing you can be sure of when you go to Walmart is that there's going to be a lot of strange people there.
