Gaming God eater 2 English Translation possible?.

I don't know if y'all heard, but this game was supposed to be released in USA. It successfully released in Japan, but not in the USA. I do not know what happen to western release, but I think it is too late for this game to release in USA simply because the PSP is almost dead in USA, but due to great fans translating it is now on life support lol.

So, I ask fan translators, can y'all please if possible help fan translate this game, after y'all get done with any Game your translating in English and patching? Because I feel this game has so much good potential.

Just think about it, Playing final fantasy type-0 in English while having God Eater 2 would be a great addition/plus to this fan translating project.

I would be so appreciated if this title get fan translated.

I'm pretty sure the game will come out in English, but only on the Vita.

I don't have a vita but I was thinking on getting one later this year, but I'm having second thoughts due to the fact it has limited titles.

Yeah the Vita version isn't that old, who knows we might get the game to come over after all--the best thing you can do now is support Vita and its games by buying one since people can't rely on the fact that people MIGHT buy systems for the game, they run businesses so yeah

personally I think hacking the PSP version is kinda obsolete and shouldn't be done unless there's absolutely no other way any sort of English version is coming out

I agree with that. It will only require 2 translators to read and compare the scripts of the Japanese game to the US Vita version. I hope there would be romhackers that can help dump the texts from this game.

That's Cyrillic and it says Dnevnik(Дневник) which means Diary.
The other word uses letters not used in Balkan countries so i guess its Russian.

EDIT: Yup, its Russian specific Cyrillic letter.

So, I hacked the game. It does uses some data encoding algorithms to avoid romhacking (compression, encryption and checksum). I even find it cute when programmers do this, and yet the algorithm itself is extra-obvious once you look at the ASM code of the game xD. Anyway, this is how the Latin font looks like (yeah, they wanted to protect the game but there is a full Latin font on it already... GENIUS!)

That might be easy for you since you're that skilled (a checksum? now that's a bit evil), but I can easily see these "tricks" proving in the future to be a huge obstacle for any future translation project. And that fills me with despair.

They most likely encrypted the hell out of it because it relies heavily on DLC...
Also, Namco had an incident comparable to Hot Coffee with an Idolmasters PSP game, when they left a debug mode that allowed to alter the animations for the 3D models for the lolis and... it sure was abused, in every sense of the term. They may be still bitter about it.

I know Tengai Makyou II DS and Ninokuni, among lots of other JP games, have Russian and Greek included in their tables (Shift-JIS) and the font for some reason, besides the kana, kanji and FWF English. I first thought the Greek was simply to accomodate stuff like "PK fire alpha" or stuff like that (it's even included by default in the font for Zelda Skyward Sword and other brfnt Wii games!) but I never found a reasonable enough explanation for the russian.
It's not like they localize games to Russian that much (besides that Sakura Taisen PC port).

Well, God Eater Burst also used a checksum algorithm (way simpler than the one used here). As for the Cyrillic stuff, the Russian words are "fashion magazine"... Maybe it was Russian programmer who decided what to put there xD.
