Hacking Wii Disc Channel will not work...

So, the other day, I installed DVDX, MPlayer, and MPlayerCE. I could not get the Wii to play DVDs even after all that, and finally gave up. Today, I bought a new game disc, but the Wii will not read it. Upon testing, it will not read any of my discs. I tried installing the new disc to usb with two of my loaders, but they refuse to do the job. There is no picture on the disc channel like it usually is when you put a disc in, and it tells me that the disc cannot be read, and that I should check the operations manual. The Wii was a system menu 4.1u, but I changed it to a 4.2u, hoping to fix the disc issue. It did not help. I have removed both MPlayers, and uninstalled DVDX. No help there either. I'd be very appreciative if anyone can help me out with this. Its driving me bananas. Thanks!

You must be following a very outdated guide, because DVDX is long obsolete. I'm not even sure it works for 4.x to begin with. You may even broke your Wii by installing DVDX.

holy crap that's a ton of cIOS.... i can say you need to reinstall your HBC so it's running on IOS58...though that's unrelated to your problem.

disc read errors are almost always hardware related....i'd be surprised if any software changes fix it. since you have CORPed IOSes, i assume you've been using your drive to play burned discs which is harder on the laser...or so they tell me. ...for whatever that's worth.

Looks like you installed DARKCORP.

Okay, first delete IOS 80. Then upgrade using official method to 4.3U. This should restore majority of IOS back to original state.

First of, he is on 4.2. Deleting IOS 80 has no repercussion, since 4.2 uses IOS 70 instead. I'm asking him to delete IOS 80 because it is hacked. When upgrade via official method it'll install unhacked IOS 80 back.

I don't recommend Modmii here because it'll install hacked IOS for system firmware back again.

Second, hacked IOS has rendered inability to play legit Wii game on disc channel. To put it back to normal it is necessary to replace majority hacked IOS back to unhacked IOS.

When he fixed problems with disc channel THEN download WiiMC to play DVD. HBC 1.10 has AHBPROT which replaces DVDX completely.
