So what is the trick to get a shiny frokie??? What does soft reset do, or do you just keep resetting and restarting the game until you get a shiny one offered?

lol I wish there was a trick. I'm simply soft resetting and repeating the nickname+starter&pokedex part until I get a shiny. to soft reset, use L+R+select or start.

When we get pokemon romon gateway then we will have backups of the save as a .sav file which could make for useful trading (like I backup my game then trade something rare to you then restore my backup....could also work with the pokecloud....

As I understand it just look different and that is what most Kids want. So you can get a lot of Stuff for such Shiny Pokemon.

it's just cool/rare (not that rare actually).

for what I've read, it still shouldn't work, but since I'm not sure don't take this as confirmed.

if you read something do it fully... its 7.1 for people who already have 4-4.5
what it does it copies all the data from 3ds internal onto sd card and request it from there so you STILL NEED 4-4.5

It's really, really confusing. There are so many conflicting comments, but the majority is that it does not work beyond 4.whatever.

I'm pretty surprised this isn't included in an updated sticky so people aren't asking all the time.

Gateway's site has an FAQ which asks about it; they say they're still working on it. So, that confirms it doesnt, but not to lose hope.

Still blown away and how hard it is to find this info, yet everyone gets crabby when someone asks.

trust me, people would ask it all the time anyway.
it's very simple: in order to make gateway work, you must use an exploit that is present only in firmwares from 4.1 to 4.5. to make it work on newer firmwares somebody must find another exploit. not easy at all. there may even not be one (but one may appear in the future, too). nobody can really tell when or if it will be found.

one more question, after updating emunand to latest version.
when i go to the store it asks for a software download for N3DS or NDS.
Is it safe to do this?

You should ONLY update through system settings on GW emunand! NEVER do it through eshop.

Hello, when booting to Gateway mod holding L i can't reach emunand menus, everything is grey expect booting to GW.
I wonder why ?

Was the save bug fixed (system crash when exiting the game) for all who encountered the bug? It never crashed for me on 2.0b1 so I cannot know.

If you are talking about backing up the Emunand current firmware then use N1ghty's tool here. http://gbatemp.net/threads/emunand-tool-v1-0.359239/
It allows you to back up the current firmware on Emunand and inject any other back up Nand you may have previously extracted.

Yes the Save bug was fix on 2.02b and thank god it did too. Now you can save and exit from the home menu without the worry of it freezing on the closing screen.

retail for sure its usually cheaper (second hand)

I dunno, the grey lines appeared only once on my console, but the gateway thing still managed to start. it took many seconds but it did. have you tried waiting for it?
