So i never actually saw a news article relating to when the PS4 sales jumped up but in any case, we should all be aware now the the PS4 has sold over 2.1 Million consoles worldwide since its recent release in most other countries around the globe.
Then of course we had the usual rebuttal of "Ha, take that Xbone, love to see you catch up now."
Well… looks like they already did
Microsoft said it has sold more than 2 million Xbox One consoles since the new video game system launched on Nov. 22.
The gaming system has been sold out at many major retailers for the past two weeks. Microsoft said the average of 111,111 units Xbox units sold each day set a record for the company. At one point, customers were ordering more than 1,000 Xbox One consoles each minute on Amazon.com, according to John Love, Amazon's director of video games.
Microsoft said it will be expanding its Xbox One inventory to meet the consumer demand ahead of Christmas.
Now, I know sales articles usually aren't well accepted and hated on most of the time, but there are a few key points o discuss here.
First off, Both of these console titans are setting ENORMOUS sales records, which is even exceeding the predictions of most Marketers that continue to think the Home Console market is dying.
Second, Both consoles are absolutely decimating any sales figures of Nintendo's Wii-U at the moment, a console that had a head start of over a Year.
Lets put it this way. The Wii-U has lifetime sales of about 4Million. in less then a month, both consoles have already met half of that, and together have matched the sales of Nintendo's Home console, which absolutely no one expected to happen.
And third, Both consoles are still selling at enormous rates. In fact, it is predicted that by the beginning of January, both consoles will have sold a whopping 3 MILLION EACH.
In my opinion, both are completely worthy consoles. Fanboyisms set aside, i like them both, and would like to see both platforms excell. I predict that these two giants will remain Neck and Neck for most of their lifespan.
So now begs the question.
Where does that leave Nintendo?
Thoughts?
