So guys... I got a 5IV Flechling and she has the Gale Wings ability, along with an Adamant nature. Can I get some recommended EVs and move pools? I'm for sure going to add Tailwind and Brave Bird. Flare Blitz would be nice, too, but what should the 4th move be? Roost? There's so many possibilities...

Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 76 Spd / 252 Atk / 180 HP
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz

This is what I am running at the moment and it seems to be working quite well. Max attack is obvious and the 76 speed EVs allow it to out speed fully invested base 90 speed pokes such as Jolly Lucario and hit them with flare blitz. The rest of the EVs go into HP as you are going to be taking some serious recoil damage from BB/FB.

As for move pools my Talonflame is used as a late game cleaner/sweeper so I prefer swords dance to tailwind and roost is used to prolong the sweep. But a suicide tailwind when it is on low health will work well if you have a slow powerful sweeper such as mega garchomp or mega mawile to come in and benefit from the speed boost.

Depends on how you plan on spending most of your time battling. Tailwind obviously does some serious work in doubles/triples especially if you can mat block to set it up for free, but its also pretty strong in 3v3 singles as its a strong set up for bulky sweepers(who just so happen to be super strong there).

I personally dont use talonflame as a teams primary sweeper so I would typically drop SD for uturn or something as I wont typically be wasting time setting him up.

I found out my shiny ID via Instacheck myself, it's 3468.
So if you ever get an egg with that Shiny Value, I can hatch that for you no prob.

It might be helpful if we eventually got to put our Shiny Values next to our names in the big list of friend codes in the Wi-Fi thread.

Mine is 3574. Whoops. Meant 1476

The main problem with uturn on Talonflame is stealth rocks, losing 50% of your health every time you switch in is a killer. Unless you are 100% sure you can keep rocks off the field there are much better pokes to use as volt switch/uturn scouters.

In 50 or so 3v3 wifi battles I have only seen SR once.
So charizard/talonflame can pretty much go in without worrying.

Fun fact: not everyone plays 3v3.
Entry hazards are pretty much useless in double or triples. However, they are common in singles.
He meant 3v3 singles. Because the battle queue only lets you use 3 pokemon, hazards arent as common because a dedicated hazard layer is taking a slot that could be better used on a sweeper or a wall

I wish that the random matchup online allowed teams of 6 pokemon.it really weakens the potentialof teams when you only have 3

If you don't care about ranked then just go to the PSS and change your shout to "Let's Battle!" or something along those lines. Doesnt usually take that long for someone to challenge you and you get to have a nice 6v6 battle. It also lets you friend your opponent on occasion which helps bolster the ol safari.

I plan on going in for a lot of 2v2 battles. I liked the double battles ever since they came out in R/S/E.
So, Tailwind and roost then?
