This is my first post on GBAtemp so let me start off by saying hi to everybody on this great forum
Also i'm Dutch so excuse me for any incorrect english!

For my first Noob-question i want to ask about the following:

I have a softmodded Wii 4.1U and i use the latest Configurable USB Loader (v70)
In the Wii settings menu it shows ios v60 and system v449

So far it runs everything i throw at it without issues, yay for that!

The issue i have is with one game only, New Super Mario Bros, which runs fine but when i try to quit the game and return to the system menu by pressing the Home-button on the Wii-mote and selecting wii menu my wii hangs

It exits, turns off my Wii-mote although the wii's system led stays green and just hangs without any screen (me LED tv turns blue as a result of no video input)

At this point i can only turn off my Wii by pressing the power button a few seconds

New Super Mario is the only game that creates this behaviour out of the (30+) games i installed on my USB drive

Does anybody know what happens here and how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Ok first time user here!

I'm working in korea now and just got a wii here (4.3K) and using 2 motion plus remotes.

I've been working on trying to softmod it and I think i got it all done. I downgraded it from 4.3k to 4.1k
successfully, have HBC, bootmii, priiloader all installed successfully, along with several USB loaders (CFG, GX).

Everything seems to work fine but now I'm trying to play some WBFS games on my 32 SD card. It was formatted
as FAT32. I made a folder named WBFS and put the wbfs games inside.

I put the SD card (using a USB adapter) into the USB plug at the back of the wii console and it reads all the games fine.
But when I go to play it, sometimes it just goes to a black screen (remote dead even though wii is still powered on), and
the only thing i can do is a hard reset.

I bought the wii August 2013. I've heard some wiis depending on when you bought it have some differences when it comes to playing games (ie on burned discs).

My question is, can I burn ISO files onto DVDs and play it directly into my wii console dvd player or are ISOs only for external HDDs? For WBFS, did I do it right? Is all you have to is copy wbfs games onto a FAT32 formatted sd card into a folder named WBFS and it should play fine?

Please help thanks!

Ok i was able to start one of the games and it worked fine but not the other one, it went to just a black screen.

The game that worked said it was IOS21. The game that didn't work was IOS53.
What are these IOS? Are certain IOS versions not compatible? Am I missing some IOS versions?

Asking here again before I create a thread. Did they ever find a way to transfer a Bootmii save to a different console?

OK I figured out how to fix it. I'm posting it incase anyone else has this problem too.
Basically if you go into loader langauge settings and change it to english, it should work.
A lot of my games were blackscreens after i clicked "start" and it turns out cuz it was in another
language other than english. When i changed it to english, all games work now perfectly!

I just got a Wii, but I'm a complete ignorant about Wii modding. Is there a guide or something like that that I can read? A "Must read before modding"?
My ultimate goal is to be able to play backups from an USB thumbstick/SD Card. I'd appreciate someone conducting me towards a document that guides me through the process to achieve that...

Run ModMii for Windows. It will ask you questions about what you want, automatically download and build everything you need to achieve it and generate a very easy to follow guide of how to use it.

I have my wii softmodded on 4.0, and would like to keep it this way. I want to get into the shop channel so i can transfer the content I bought to my wii U. I however cannot get the shop chanel to updated. i have installed the new shop channel that I downloaded with NUS downloader, and installed IOS 56, IOS 61 and 62 with mod manager. I'm no longer getting the message that i need to update the shop channel, but my wii freezes trying to load the channel. Any other thoughts on where to go next?

Nevermind. I got modmii, and had it download ioses and shop channel, re updated all of them, and I'm good to go

Does modmii have support for dios mios and dios mios lite? Is there a way to completely fix and restore the ios in case I messed something up? Currently having trouble getting dios mios lite to work, have no idea what cios or wad to install or uninstall. Ripped game from original disc, load iso in usb loader gx, makes dvd spinning sound and hangs at dml 2.10 splash screen. Can modmii help get everything in order even if its a jumbled mess right now? Most stuff is on the sd card obviously but I'm more concerned about the d2x cios, wad, etc. Stuff that's on the actual wii that I installed without full understanding.

Well, if the DML splash screen shows up, I think DML is installed correctly. The trouble might be with something on the SD card.

Some ideas:
- Make sure the SD card is formatted in FAT32 with the cluster size at 64k or smaller.
- There's always the possibility of an incompatible SD card. In that case you can try switching to a different SD card OR you could try installing an considerably older version of DML. I think you can get ModMii to build it for you using the DML option in the cMIOS section of download page 4. (edit : wait, that's wrong )

EDIT2: for that last bit with the older DML version you'd need this
http://www.mediafire.com/download/3qhzzbdm8aisab2/DML_r59_MOD_dmm.elf
and this
http://filetrip.net/wii-downloads/tools-utilities/download-dios-mios-lite-wad-creator-09-f31915.html
to build it.

Okay, this is my first time trying any form of hacking and my Wii (or me) have been thoroughly halted.
I'm trying to install WAD Manager 1.7 ad have been following this video [x].
I made it to the disclaimer for WAD but I can't press "A" to continue from there. In the video it says I won't be able to use the newer controller because of the MotionPlus and that I could substitute for a GameCube controller. I've tried all three of the ones I have (two original and one generic) and none of them are working with it.
Any help? D:

EDIT2: for that last bit with the older DML version you'd need this
http://www.mediafire.com/download/3qhzzbdm8aisab2/DML_r59_MOD_dmm.elf
and this
http://filetrip.net/wii-downloads/tools-utilities/download-dios-mios-lite-wad-creator-09-f31915.html
to build it.

I tried using the wad creator and got a file called "DMLr59[MIOS-v10].wad" but it's only 212KB. Is this correct? I just go into Wad Manager 1.7 and install it and it will overwrite whatever DM/DML is on there now? I put the DML r59 MOD dmm.elf inside the wad creator folder and changed it to DML.elf, was that correct?

I'm also confused about DiscEx and whether it's needed or not. I have ripped an iso from an original disc and also tried using Gamecube Iso Tool to convert an iso to DiscEx and got a sys folder with apploader, bi2, and boot as well as the iso. Neither way works though they do at least show up in USB Loader GX and DML Booter, they don't show up in WiiFlow or NeoGamma.

I also reformatted my Transcend 8gb sdhc to 64kb clusters and put everything back on it. It is marked as primary and active. I got the same splash screen and disc spin sound and waited over 30 seconds and nothing happened.

I haven't installed this wad creator file yet just to be sure I'm doing the right thing so far. Am I at least close to getting somewhere or is this pretty hopeless? Thanks for your help so far.

Edit: I tried using the DMLr59 wad I created and it didn't work. Tried it in DML Booter and it just went to a black screen. Tried it in USB Loader GX and it said something like "You need to install DML 1.2 or later" so obviously something went wrong. Installed DML 2.9 just to see if I could get rid of the black screen and got the same stuck splash screen. What should I try next or did I mess up the DMLr59 wad creation?
