The images will be English in the final result. Any shop signs that we see as appropriate and needen will be changed into english too.
I have 3D Modeling Experience there is no problem with that. Don't worry. This video is JUST a teaser.
So be prepared for the next one as it will be bigger and more exciting (or so I hope :D)
Fantastic :) i look forward to it good sir

I actually wanted to use one of the 3D Model as a joke "StorMyu was here" on the Colosseum sign xD
btw, from what I remember we already did some of those...
I'm not even sure.

Important:

Looking for a guy/girl who can work with graphics freely between Photoshop and Fireworks (Especially Fireworks is important).
You have to have heard of Invisible Alpha Channels and you have to know the means how to make them visible, edit them and adjust them to different needs =
English text. Since Photoshop is not capable of doing that I need you to have experience with Fireworks.
Also you have to have some knowledge about how the format PNG works.

If you feel up for the job, PM me. I can give you the details. For communication it would be adviseable if you have Skype since there is a lot of explaining to do.

no but Fireworks can handle the alphachannels correctly, Photoshop screws up the transparency palette.
So it's about indexed palette PNGs with alpha. You need only to edit a PNG with transparency and then getting it indexed with semi-transparency or is it important to retain palette ordering somehow? Otherwise there is a trick to get this working with GIMP and an CLI tool.

Palette Ordering is essential in this one. The thing here is simply that you have multiple transparency levels in this picture and photoshop can't preserve them.
It gives the picture one transparency level. It does preserve transparency all right, but it also screws up the transparency in given areas.

um I try to explain more easy:

One area in the picture hat 75% transparency,
the other one maybe 50% and one has 0% means it's completely opaque.

But Photoshop goes for 75% and even the area that has only 50% gets 75% and the 0% area also.
(Just example numbers) .

So instead of maybe 3 transparency levels I end up with one and the result is well, not as nice as the original.
If you wish more details or you want to do it feel free to pm me ;)

The central point really is if the ordering is *really* important. I have a hard time believing the ordering of the entries in the palette have any significance if transparency values are used. In all game images I've seen yet using transparency I've only seen two cases. First case is RGB palette entries. In this case the first color is considered fully transparent and all others (no matter the ordering) are colors. Ordering there is only important if you apply different palettes to the same image (fighting games for example like M.U.G.E.N.). The other case is RGBA palette entries. In this case the ordering does not matter since there is no designated transparent color. Ordering would only matter if you have multiple palettes. In this case though the palettes tend to be located in special files made by hand. I have the feeling GIMP + pngnq is what you actually need to get the job done and that Fireworks is just the luxury way.

Ok maybe the order isn't ( I guess) but the entry have specific alpha values and those need to be preserved.
Maybe GIMP and pngnq could do the job, I don't know. But since I have no knowledge about this either, this wouldn't change the fact that I need an expert on grapchis for this one.

Unfortunately we're out of the job if theres no translated text to localize
That's why i've taken up the job of thread police, to give me purpose ^_^

I didn't know who you were with the new avatar, so I was going to tell you that you aren't a well-known user, making you ineligible to be thread police, but then I realized that you are the person with the black kitty......

I read that you guys were looking for editors who could help with the project. I've been eagerly awaiting the completion of this translation and would be ecstatic if I could offer my abilities to you guys. If you'd allow me the opportunity to help with this glorious project just contact me either on here or at my email: [email protected]

Yeah about Palette I remember that I had some issues when translating the maps.
I managed to get the right colors, but partial transparency i still not working =/

19.png

The effective maps should be somewhere around 75% transparency, but I can't get it to render properly.
Maybe it's just related to the outdated version of Roxas75 import software I have...

Oh and Romsstar, I asked you something on the last post on the dev blog (Yeah, I totally forgot there was a topic here xD)
