And also ARM. ARM controls the hardware. I'm not sure if Devolution has custom code running on both ARM and PPC, but at the very least it will apply a bunch of (memory based) patches to the current IOS running on the ARM processor.

Interesting. Did not know that. Learn something new every day.

Yeah, My bad. I only do x86, I've never done ARM or PPC assembly (despite wanting to dabble in other things) so I didn't try to read any of it, I only acknowledged that it was there.

Yuck. I have no love for the x86 architecture. I'll take a nice RISC processor over a CISC any day of the week.

Okay firstly, I had a lol at "GC launched with digital AV out". Digital means either DVI or HDMI. YPbPr and RGB is, and always has been analogue.

I had a lol at your statement.

Just because the only cable that used it converted it down to an analog output along the way doesn't mean it wasn't leaving the GC as digital.

In at least one case, the person who cracked it did not wish it to be made public knowledge but someone else spilled the beans.

Also, on the matter of how you "could care less":

I'm at zero , I got to play with dios mios back when ...and it made me remember how much I hated the GC , but , I am a digital hoarder , and if I could make his program work without the verification , I would only use it once to make sure it works and then add every GC game to 500gb drive that I am not using , and then pack that drive away.

Okay firstly, I had a lol at "GC launched with digital AV out". Digital means either DVI or HDMI. YPbPr and RGB is, and always has been analogue.

Every single NTSC game that was re-released as PAL, that had the 480p option, had that functionality intentionally removed. My point is that it wasn't just removed from the GC itself, it was removed from the game as well.

GC does not generate or output analogue YPbPr. The supposed "component" port is in fact digital. PAL GC originally accepted that cable.

Okay, on the note of "I could care less", if you do care just a little, then it is possible to care less.

Like, if you're posting about a subject, then your care is more than 0, since 0 care would mean zero effort, while a post takes more than 0 effort.

So if you're posting you care at least a little, your care is >0, and thus it is still, at that point, possible to care less.

Ok I stand technically corrected, but as the format isn't DVI it's useless as digital out - it's in a format that is intended to generate YPbPr and other "child" analogue formats. And it still doesn't negate my point that all PAL GC games only have the options of 480i and 576i, none have the options of 480p.
"Couldn't care less" is more grammatically correct.

Yes that's the original English expression as we use it in Australia also (actually the correct expression is 'could not care less'), and the Americans somehow managed to get it wrong, and I roll my eyes every time I hear it said wrong.

It's wrong because 'could not care less' is an English idiom, that originated in England, and 'could care less' is an incorrect version of the idiom found only in the USA. In England, Australia, etc, we use the original idiom either 'could not' or 'couldn't' care less, and we would never say 'could care less', its meaning to us being arbitrary to the idiom. It's not wrong to say it per say, but it's wrong as an idiom.

My concern is the idea that a string of words which form a grammatically and logically-correct statement on their own seem to have their meaning voided because it's also an idiom. :P

Like, I can talk about getting slapped on the wrist, in the form of actually getting slapped on the wrist.
And if a dog pulls on my leg, I can say he's pulling my leg without meaning that the dog is playing a joke on me.
etc.

You're right "I could care less" is a grammatically correct statement and can apply to someone who cares very little. However, like the image SifJar posted says:
Saying "I could care less" is stupid, because there's no way to tell if you mean you care a little or infinitely . You should just say "I care very little about this" or "I barely care" if that's the case.

Okay. So I've read through the entire thread. And just to get things straight. I went out and bought about 15 GC games just for Devolution. I have a hacked Wii & vWii (U). 14 of my games work. Mario Kart DD won't work because the very center of the disc is missing it's reflective part. So it won't verify.

I've figured out that you don't have to do a Clean Rip, but getting the ISO in the right directory and doing the verification with the correct disc works fine. Except for my MKDD.

So do you guys have any insight into making this work? Or a way for at LEAST getting my MKDD to work? Please PM me if you can help.

Thanks in advance!

no sir, you are out of luck the program that works with "purchased" games doesn't work because your game doesn't work with it.

time to cry about it.

that's a crying shame, the guy goes out and buy a retail gamecube game specifically to use with devolution, and devolution refuses to play it.
