Ugh I'm about to give up whenever i try to put in a mac address in adminstrator command prompt my wireless Network Connection 2 goes away -_-
What D-Link router and what version (mini/micro/small and version number) of DD-WRT did you install?
You can always try this script! Works for me, as I do not like to be reliable on someone else's internet (just put it in the cron tab and apply):
Code:0-59/6 * * * * root ifconfig eth1 down && ifconfig eth1 hw ether 40:53:50:4F:4F:`/bin/cat /proc/interrupts | /usr/bin/md5sum | /usr/bin/cut -b 1``/bin/cat /proc/interrupts | /usr/bin/md5sum | /usr/bin/cut -b 1` && ifconfig eth1 up 3-59/6 * * * * root ifconfig eth1 down && ifconfig eth1 hw ether 4E:53:50:4F:4F:`/bin/cat /proc/interrupts | /usr/bin/md5sum | /usr/bin/cut -b 1``/bin/cat /proc/interrupts | /usr/bin/md5sum | /usr/bin/cut -b 1` && ifconfig eth1 up
Finally got a guide for the Sanoxy Repeater together. Still needs a bit of work, but it's enough to get people started

I succesfully set the virtual router and changed the mac adress.
The 3ds finds the ssid and the nintendo zone. But it won't connect to the internet/nintendo zone.
I'm using windows 7.
Please help me. Thnx

I'm using Windows7. And I could set the virtual router so it works with my 3ds.
I could get the internet access on my 3DS but not streetpass hit. When I changed the MAC address using macshift the address on virtual wifi miniport didn't change.
Using macshift did change MAC address on my wireless adapter but not virtual wifi miniport.
Please help me. Thanks in advance.
Ohh, I thought it was also for the router method. How likely are we getting a version for micro build? Thanks!I mean it also can be used at Ubuntu PC now. It consolidates the recipe for Ubuntu linux from the first post with all features of DD-WRT script in one easy to install script for Linux.
Try setting up and running the wireless hotspot using the command prompt window instead of the virtual router program. I had a similar problem with the virtual router where my 3DS could see the wireless hotspot connection, however whenever I tried an internet connection test on my 3DS it would always fail.
On another note if you get everything working you will be able to see the nintendo zone icon on your 3DS but you won't be able to access nintendo zone. This is because nintendo zone requires an unsecured hotspot to work, the wireless hotspot will have WPA2 encrytion on it as it is a mandatory requirement when running it on Windows.
force your isp dns on 3ds, i had this problem with usb key
The streetpass relay function will work perfectly fine over an encrypted network, it is only nintendo zone that requires an unecrypted network.
You can't make a wireless hotspot on a windows computer unsecured as it is a requirement that you have to have WPA2 encryption on it to create one. If you want to use nintendo zone and have a router with wireless capability on it, you can just rename the SSID of the wireless connection to "attwifi" and turn the security off on it. No need to spoof the mac address if all you want to do is access nintendo zone as far as I know. You will only need to spoof the mac address if you want to use the streetpass relay feature.
For the streetpass relay feature to work the virtual wifi hotspot connection will need access to the internet. You do this by enabling internet connection sharing on the network connection you use to connect to the internet with.
I see that you are using a wireless card with an Atheros chipset, Kervidgen mentioned that he had to use custom Atheros drivers to allow him to be able to change the mac address on his wireless card. Even then the first part of mac address for his wireless hotspot would always be offset to '0E' instead oif '4E'.
Is the address on the virtual wifi miniport similar to the one you tried to set on it or is it completey different?
But
Ok, my pc has internet.
But the 3ds can not connect with the virtual acces point. Is that connection nessesairy?
I still get the icon from the nintendo zone.
dunno, what's your isp?But
