It was announced just minutes ago at GamesCom.

Talking of unwanted hardware, here’s the Vita!

That was a facetious joke, by the way. I love mine (hey - I was playing Killzone Mercenaries on it on the plane on the way over!). And I’ll love it even more when Borderlands 2 comes out.

How exactly do first person shooters work on handhelds? I can't imagine even using my Playstation controller for Borderlands 2, but a handheld? That's even worse.

I suppose the touch panel on the back could be used instead of L2/R2 triggers. I don't see how it couldn't work.

I have 700+ hrs played on BL2, so i won't be interested in this.

I can't see it selling that well on the Vita, as the gamers who wanted this would already have it on their consoles/PC.

PSVita has the exact same button layout and analog sticks. The only difference is the lack of L2/R2/L3/R3 which are replaced by the touchscreen/touchpad so it's actually relatively comfortable.

EDIT: Brain Derp.

If you can imagine playing one on a PS3 controller, you can imagine playing it on the PSVita which has the exact same button layout and analog sticks. The only difference is the lack of L2/R2/L3/R3 which are replaced by the touchscreen/touchpad.
But I said I can't imagine playing on a PS3 controller. Console FPSes turn me off when I think about playing them without a mouse.

Bunch of wieners. I have it on PC and have a ton of hours in it, but will still pick it up for the vita. Portable system > Desktops/Consoles.

He just said he couldn't.

Sorry, I've misread.

Well, in that case, no layout will really please you. I find it relatively comfortable myself, but nothing beats a mouse. :P

Yeah, I'm sure I would have still enjoyed Borderlands 2 if it were a console exclusive (or handheld, for that matter), but I've put a bunch of hours into BL2 already (though not 700+ like eyes) so this'll be a pass for me.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (partly FPS) plays quite good on Vita, and hell, I'd love to play Borderlands 2 on it, sounds freaking awesome.
Too bad I have almost 200h played on Steam, and I don't own a Vita myself.
Also, I wonder how a game so focused on Multiplayer will work out on a mobile device.

While Borderlands 2 would be best played with other people, one could easily play 50+, or 100+ solo, depending on how many characters you play.
