Hacking crediars new streetpass related project

Crediar, infamous Wii hacker, announced today on Twitter, that he is looking for testers for his new "3DS streetpass related project".

The requirements are:

1. 3DS
2. Linux
3. WLAN device fully compatible with monitor mode and packet injection (quick test aireplay-ng -9 <device>)
3. Must come to IRC: irc.efnet.org #dm

Edit: crediar removed the tweet, i guess he is no longer looking for testers.
So please don´t annoy him on IRC.

Ok, speculation time:
Could it be some kind of online tunnel to streetpass anybody in the world?
This would be amazing!
You would never run out of passes, could finally complete all these puzzles and play the new streetpass games in a proper way.
What do you guys think?

Sounds cool, but I can't fulfill the 2nd and 3rd requirement (the first "3rd"). Would be nice to think its a stack smash to the mii plaza with a malformed streetpass hit, but i'm pretty sure the 3ds checks, then checks again (i.e heavy encryption duh). The online portal thingy sounds like a godsend (I live in new mexico, not too many people)! This could be interesting.

Doubt it, since the data is highly encrypted.

An online portal that tunnels the encrypted data to someone elses 3DS sounds much more likely to me.

yup, i think so too, it should be hard to find an exploit based on streeptass. though tunneling would be great for me as i have made "0" streetpasses where i live.

Stop posting premature speculations in topic titles. People get a wrong idea and meh on devs afterwards if its turns out nothing like the speculation.

Sounds awesome and would solve some problems, or open more options.
One thing though, they should expand the compatability; For me it wont be a problem since I'm getting a laptop with Linux, but it would be great to have a Mac or/and Win version too.

Tattorack: I guess you need Linux for putting certain files onto the 3DS... I am not sure if this "hack-send-thing" will work on Windows / Mac aswell :/

Well like I said, I'm planning on having Debian on my future pc, but would be nicer for other people.
Who else other than very serious people have Linux?

Nobody knows if Linux is neccessary for the enduser software.
This is only the requirement for the testing people.

The problem with windows is, that it doesn't support monitor mode for WLAN devices AFAIK.

Hopefuly? Streetpass without actually having streetpass ^^
Would be handy for me since only one person in the entire village or entire area for that matter has a 3DS

Wish I had a device thats able to do packet injection, etc. I fulfill all of the other requirements.

Maybe when I get backtrack ill get myself a WLAN device capable of such things...

I do. I get bored and change operating systems on a couple of netbooks almost monthly. One's running XBMCbuntu, another either arch or mint. I forget. Probably mint.

Backtrack is a linux based OS. Not sure how useful it would be for this project crediar has though.

Of course, im looing at Kali right now....
