So I have about 200gig worth of XBOX live content on my 360 I purchased legally. Only problem is I live without home internet and this xbox is not keeping game updates. I can connect it to live, download the patches for all my games that have D/l content, but when I get home, the patch is gone and I cannot access the content that is on the HD (as it cannot find the game patch). This is beyond frustrating, and XBOX Live support is no help, only thing I have found is to have some of the patches downloaded and put on an XBOX formatted flashdrive. But if I try to put too many on their, they corrupt. All the live arcade games play fine, so I am really at a loss. Is the workaround I found the only way to access these patches? Anyone else experience this issue?

BTW...its a 250g Slim console

You could try to download the TU's from xbuc.net.
Then inject them into a 360 formatted flashdrive with Horizon/Modio
Copy them to the HDD and retry.

It could also be that you need an active connection for the game.

There's a limit to title updates you can store (at least ones that go in the cache folder), not sure what it is though.

Sometimes it just goes crazy as well. I've had it happen and it has stopped storing them. Clearing the cache normally sorts it (there is a button code for it, can't remember it). Of course that means you have to download them all again after clearing.

Well, I would say about 20-25 updates like these, mostly from a different site, never thought to copy them to the hard drive, Ill see if it will let me tonight. I know for a fact that at least some of these games shouldn't require an active connection ( I have d/l content for around 100 games)

Thanks, I have cleared the cache multiple times (that was the XBOX live customer service answer). I wonder if there maybe something corrupted in my downloads that could be throwing it outta wack. Is their a way to connect to PC to see if anything is corrupted?

You can connect your HDD to your PC via a transfer pack (open it with Party Buffalo driver or USB XTAF)
But be sure not to mess with the content as it can corrupt your ENTIRE drive.
