Hardware What is the Best Graphic Card for me?

So yeah this is what I have. I want to buy a good graphic card. I can go up to $300. So which can be my perfect Graphic Card?

PSU - 500W

APU are meant for using integrated GPU. If you want to use dedicated GPU it is much better to step up to Intel Core i3+ or AMD FX-4300+. Especially if you are doing video editing.

GTX 760 with an APU will likely have bottleneck from APU.

Well, you're best off staying with the APU until you get enough money. But I'm sure that it isn't too bad at video editing. Try doing that on my old PC with an AMD Athlon64.

I'm not certain this is the case. You can look up information about your CPU here:

If you see towards the bottom of the page, your CPU is a socket FM2, so you can basically swap in any other APU you like. You could upgrade all the way to a A10-6800K, which look to be only about $150 now.

If I recall correctly, AMD technology allows you to create a CrossFire configuration with the embedded GPU on your CPU and an equivalent dedicate AMD graphics card, which apparently is a huge boost to performance (as an example, I believe it is used in the new MSI GX60 Hitman Edition).

Hope that clears stuff up.

To point out, though, last I checked very few video editing/converting software support any sort of OpenCL or OpenGL acceleration, so upgrading your graphics card will probably have little impact on your video encode times.

APU has an inherently weak CPU portion. People buy APU because it is cheap and they don't see the need of dedicated GPU (it is cheap for a reason). But once you started to do heavy work such as video editing or driving a dedicated GPU it simply cannot keep up the pace.

And hybrid crossfire is totally not worth it for desktop user. You may increase FPS but microstuttering and DDR3 that APU is using will hold the performance back. For desktop user, the only time SLI/CF makes sense is when you do 3D gaming or triple monitors (and that is with high end GPU, not APU).

OpenCL does not work with CF anyway (if the software you are using supports OpenCL).

Also, the power supply is important. (At Tomshardware, it's the first question that gets asked) Model, brand, and wattage please.
If it's a prebuilt PC, expect to buy a new power supply as well. Most OEM's toss in 3rd rate power supplies that can just barely fuel the machine without a new GPU.

EDIT: Oops, saw that you put the wattage. The brand and model is important. A Corsair CX500 would be great, but a Logisys 500w wouldn't run it. Also, the prebuilt comment still stands.

Best you can do is an AMD graphics card - not a top end one. Your CPU is currently shit so you should probably upgrade that - because as this gentleman indicated, your CPU will be the bottleneck. Either for gaming or for video encoding.

Probably. Dell Outlet has some decent deals on x51 systems every now and then. You can pick one up for around $500 with an i7 if you keep your eyes peeled. Cute little systems.

Like I said, APU is meant to be used without dedicated GPU. That is the selling point of APU.

APU + dedicated GPU is simply not the best combination.

If you really really must go with a dedicated GPU, go to ebay and buy an used HD7790. About as high as one would go before you have a really unbalance setup.

Again, you would see a much larger improvement by upgrading your APU than by installing a graphics card. As has been mentioned multiple times in this thread, your current APU is garbage.

Your new APU would also come with a newer, more powerful integrated GPU.
