I don't think they stopped making 3D classics I think they are going to make more.
As far as I know they stopped making them but never flat out admitted that. But they definitely stated that they take more work then expected, so they aren't as profitable as Nintendo imagined.
Sega does something like the 3D Classics now (had another name, forgot what it's called), but so far they only released that games only in Japan.

I hope they make more 3D classics they just need to figure out which ones desves to be in 3D & which ones don't.

Just don't think they will really. Nintendo are a bit daft in this department for some reason, they plan to release GBA games on the Wii U Virtual Console yet not on the 3DS? the Wii U still lacking a confirmation of GameCube games on the Wii Virtual Console, having a painful process of having the Virtual Console stuff slowly being re-released on the eShop after building up a great catalogue on the Wii....you see where I'm coming from?

GBA games ARE on the 3DS eShop. Just not for everyone. Since I'm a 3DS Ambassador (bought it at the initial price on release day), I have 10 of them (along with 10 NES games) sitting right on my home screen, and all for free. The emulator is already done, they just think it's not worth their while to release the games, for some reason...

My point is that Nintendo for whatever reason won't sell GBA games on the 3DS yet they will sell Nes games on there which I tend to find baffling...yet one day they are going to sell them on the Wii U? still we are getting off the subject at hand here

And Nintendo wonders why people download emulators and ROMs

1. I strongly believe there are already official emulators for all older Nintendo systems already, they just haven't released any of them yet. Cause as far as coding a new snes emulator for the 3ds is childs play for nintendo.
2. I find it very annoying when some one like sega has been launching a bunch of there classic games on steam, and other divices, but nintendo wont even launch there own classic games on there own freaking hardware.
3. Nintendo should let people make one master account for games and let me play them on any system they are made available for, as in, like steam I can play any of my games on any single PC, Mac, or even linux if it is supported. Like I own nes mario bros on wii, i shouldn't have to buy it again on the 3ds.
4. What is with Nintendo these days? They make the wii U, which from what I am observing is bombing hard currently, and they got an other system, the 3ds, and honestly, for how long it's been out it feels highly neglected at this point, there isnt a heck of a lot of good games for it, some of the better ones are just ports of older ones, like OOT and starfox. We all know they are gonna make a S**t ton of money on pokemon, but then what? Most android/ipod etc phones and devices have more/better selection then the 3ds, the only thing the 3ds has over them is buttons and a joy stick.

I dont understand big business, but using basic logic... I dont see nintendo's "end game" turn out so well at this point. I've been wrong many times thinking this way. When the first DS systems came out i was like, this thing is dumb and big and ugly compaired to the psp, but it was cheaper and had fun games. and the wii I was the same, this thing has lame hardware and gimics, but again at the time much cheaper then xbox/ps3 and had fun games.
This time around however I don't know how they are gonna shelter the storm, they are trumped hardware wise compared to the nex gen xbox/ps4, the big man EA games refuses to make modern games for the wii U, which is a bad sign in general, cause EA loves money.

Call me negative, but I want Nintendo to flop on consoles, and is forced to sell there games to every one. wouldn't that kick ass? To be able to play any Nintendo game on any piece of hardware powerful enough?

Why is it everyone is -always- wanting Nintendo to flop... but suggest playing Halo or Ratchet and Clank on competitors consoles... and suddenly your life is in danger?

This is just more evidence of Nintendo's disconnect with reality. They could make a killing by offering a large variety of emulated games for a more reasonable price. Instead, it's like they want people to give Supercard their money. The 3DS eShop is a joke. No account system to recover purchases, a badly designed and slow interface, and an overpriced, small selection.

I don't know if Iwata ever said it, but Yamauchi said many times Nintendo will never publish games on other platforms. They'll stop making software if their hardware business ever fails.
I really doubt Iwata will say anything like that, but it could be a policy they will adhere to. By the way, last time Yamauchi said this was a few months before the Wii came out, before the DS took really off. When it really looked like if the Wii fails after the previous 2 lackluster Nintendo home consoles, that will be it.
I do not really want Nintendo to do software on other peoples platforms (or Sega for that matter), but I think they should get their act together on the eShop front, concerning cartridge games the 3DS does really well at the moment IMHO.
Oh and as for the original question, I want to play SNES and GBA games on my 3DS. And not that slow drip feed they do since they started with VC in Wii. I want a big flood of VC games that for NES, SNES, GB, GBA, SMS and SMD for 3DS. At the moment I don't care one bit about Wii U because there is no interesting software. That may change with Pikmin 3 and Bayonetta 2, but we'll see. And 2 games are still too little for me to buy a console.

What about that pokedex app for iOS?
Nintendo does not make any Pokemon stuff, they are just the publisher. They have some kind of stake in the franchise via the joint venture Pokemon Company with Gamefreak, but they do not make Pokemon games officially.
I assume the IOS app was not published by them nor has any mention of Nintendo.

well, i dont really get it myself. at least with all their first party games, there should be no problem as far as copyrights are concerned, it should be fairly easy for them to build every emulator of their own systems, as they should be in possession of all the schematics and once an emulator is coded, they pretty much just need to put in the game. instant ~3000 releases. ok, there might be the slightest effort to fix problems here or there and implement the save system to work with the 3ds memory... but if dozens of people online can do it, so can they. they even have the advantage to work with all the available hardwarepower, they could make the perfect emulator that behaves exactly like the original hardware.. and thats pretty much it.
and noone cared about the damn electronic manuals anyway. just release them as pdf online if you have too. save that money as well. personally, i believe the electronic manual is the part that takes the most time anyway.

there is no reason at all not do do this. but then, nintendo believes that too many games at any one point overwhelms the consumer to the point where he stops buying anything. instead, if at all, they release them on a monthly basis for a ridiculous price. if every nes game on eshop cost just 1$, i'd go and download all of them. right now, no matter what. but at the price they're now, i'm not going to download any.
i mean, damn, because these games were so expensive, i went through the trouble to become a wii online ambassador so i'd get the nes, snes and n64 games for free afterwards. took me two months and probably enough time to actually buy all of them if i'd instead taken a real job instead.

at 1$ for nes and gb
2$ for snes and gbc
and 3$ for gba

people would storm the eshop and load and load like there's no tomorrow.

Scince the 3DS can handle GBA games via virtual console (Ambassador Stuff) it's tecnically posible, but since the SNES games usually run many visual layers the V.C. emulator will need a lot of RAM to handle them properly. Also Nintendo has already released the mayority of the good games of the NES (Excluding a couple due copyrights [Battletoads / Circus Charlie / Metal Gear I & II] and other ones like SMB3 / Castlevania II & III) they will reach a point where they will be left with anything from NES/GB/GBC so if they want make more money they will need create a SNES or a GBA V.C. Emulator so they can continue with they business.

TL; DR - Nintendo loke Money Consoles and they are reaching a Blank Point so yeah they will release a VC Emulator for them.

I think tehy will release ALTTP when the sequel comes around, either the SNES version or the GBA one - which would be a tough task if ya think about four swords.

They will eventually bring SNES games though^^

I wish they would bring sega saturn games for Wii U...

nintendo is supposed to link 3ds vc and wii u vc at some point where we won't have to worry about this, sometime around when miiverse is integrated into the 3ds. hopefully by the end of the calender year this will happen. which could be the delay, especially if they do a dual system buy.
