Fable HD remake coming to Xbox 360 this holiday

Ted Timmins from Lionhead Sudios announced this morning that a HD remake for Fable called Fable Anniversary would be released on Xbox 360 during this holiday season. This remake will include the Lost Chapters DLC.


I only really played the first game on my PC, but I quite enjoyed it.
I'm kind of sad that it will only be on Xbox 360 though...

I thought Fable 2 was pretty decent to be honest. Fable 3 however I agree, was a bit pants.

In Fable 2 they removed armors and the mana bar. There wasn't even a way to lose in that game. If I'm not mistaken, you just spawn in place at the cost of exp.

Yeah you couldn't die as such. It was a long time ago when I played it, but I think when you did die you just carried on but with physical scars. And this had a detrimental effect on character interactions and stuff. It wasn't ideal, but it was different to to the normal die, respawn, die, respawn with no consequence.

I played Fable 2 a bit and several things made me abandon it.
The major one would be the extreme simplification of game mechanics: Less character and equipment customization, less weapons, no more enchantments on weapons and THE SPELLS, DAMNIT, THE SPELLS. I mean, they removed almost all of them, and left only basic attacking spells plus 2 others.
Also, incredibly slow fights when it was fast-paced. Easy combat system, no experience bonuses if you do kill streaks...
The final touch was probably the death "punishment": You get a scar. I mean seriously.

Fable The Lost Chapters is one of my favorite pc games; I still have it installed on my pc. I did not like 2 or 3.

Actually it took me some time to remember what the boss was at first.

I so wanted the sword so I chose the decision, just to realize that it was weaker than the one I had.

Loved the game back in the days, may pick this up after it's around 10€. Decent game, but as always with older games, it has aged a bit.

I guess this means no fable ONE (fable 4) for the xbox one at E3.
