you cant modify it or have anything else on it
-_-
heres an example
3dsgamechipcontents.jpg

as you can the the Micro SD would be in NCSD Format
then contain the following on mini Partitions at set locations

so if you Got Super Mario Bros 2
Got Micro SD
Formatted the MicroSD to NCSD Format
then Flashed the Rom to the MicroSD this is the result
it takes up the whole partition and remains as thus otherwise the 3DS wont load it

Indeed you don't need to modify it. You just need to feed it raw to the 3DS via the FPGA, so I still can't see your point.

The microSD can be formatted in FAT32, since the FPGA selects the file, loads it into memory then feeds it raw to the 3DS.

the 3DS Knows whats in between and can detect hardware if need be
you cannot add anything between the Game chip and the 3DS without it stopping you
you can only add stuff after the initial hardware

Even for what you say ("the microSD acts as a chip") there needs to be hardware in between, so there goes out the window your theory.

Sorry, guys, but most likely there won't be a menu and multiple games at one time on one card.
For a menu a exploit is necessary. We know this, look at all DSi flashcarts. They used the header of a original game, changed it a little bit et voilà, it loaded the menu and not the game. So for a menu a 3DS game(header) exploit is necessary. And such stuff is blockable very easily. The DS and DSi scene embossed all of us.

The first flash cart to support nds mode was the NEOFlash cart. it used a special slot 1 device to boot unsigned code to execute data from the slot 2 device. there was 2 versions at launch, 1 one 64MB, the other 128MB.

I have contacted the team to request a review sample. 99% of the time cart makers will send us a sample to review as the publicity we can bring them far outweights the cost of a few flash kits.

well m3 was my first flashcard if i remember correctly
i thought so,

the M3 simply was first of the ds flashcards (one solution), then somebody cloned it into a R4, which became popular (the funny part was that you can convert a m3 to a r4 and to englisch and chinese and vica versa, with just soldering already present bridges on the cart)

the first flashcard was passmee, which allowed you to run .nds file from the GBA supercard. A Softmod followed (Flashme) and allowed people to load .nds files from the gba supercard without passme

We'll see how this pans out. This looks a bit more legit than the rest. I know it's easy to fake something like this, but she was loading everything and showing it on screen and booting the games to the menu's. Regardless of it's not operable, they at least boot to the menu's.

i hope this will be the first steps for proper homebrew on 3DS. it is not rare that it begins with piracy and goes to homebrew then.
This does not seem to be any step towards Homebrew, only slightly more convenient piracy. If I understand it correctly this does not exploit any of the signing etc mechanisms, so it is just one step above a simple bootleg, and no step at all towards Homebrew, or even a better understanding of the inner software workings of the 3DS.
