I was using beta 12 when Yoshi's Island gave me the reset entering the pipe the first time I tested it. I tested it a second time just now again and this time the game didn't reset. I wasn't able to trigger it a third time either. It may be random, I don't know. But I can't reproduce it so I guess there's no way to single it out as an issue...

The mosaic effect seemed to have been used more in SNES games than GBA games, not as many GBA games seem to use it (except for ports of SNES games and such). Not a huge deal. More a cool little extra transition effect than anything. If you don't know how to implement it then that's fine. It doesn't cause any real issues and you probably wouldn't even notice it gone unless you knew where to look.

This thread is always on the first page, usually in the top 3 as it's so popular and constantly updated. The SNES emulator would be on the first page if progress was as constant, so at the moment there is no need for them to be stickied. As long as they continue to be relevant, they will be easily found, just like any other project.

TempGBA beta 13 is now available and contains the following changes:

* Fix GitHub issue #13, " Lufia - sound crackling and crashes after loading from .sav".
* Fix GitHub issue #10, "File selectors activate the wrong file by touch".
* Fix GitHub issue #8, "Pokemon Flora Sky Hacked ROM Audio Issues".

These changes may affect compatibility of other games in unknown ways, improving or deteriorating their support. Please test problematic games from beta 12 anew in beta 13.

So is it better to use this or the SNES emulator to play Zelda:LTP and Mario World?
I'd say that right now, this emulator. Not even counting that GBA ports of SNES games often had bug fixes and small gameplay/mechanic additions (though the lack of visual space on Super Mario World is meh), GBA games don't need to be downscaled, and this emulator seems to run better as of right now.

TempGBA is better, you get about triple the frame rate.

Just make sure you use this before you even touch the GBA version of Super Mario World.

Agreed, and especially the part about getting the color restoration patch. I love all those hacks that restore the SNES colors and music to the GBA ports. Too bad there haven't been any other sound restoration hacks besides Bregalad's Final Fantasy 4, 5 and 6 hacks though. Yoshi's Island could use both a color and sound restoration (I've seen two people start work on a color restoration for YI but never finished it yet).

My personal list of test all roms, hope that helps, also put those already in operation after the last updates

And also game_config file modifications in their European versions, you could add the original to avoid implements this in every update and more people benefit from it, not if they will be all right, just modify the GAME_NAME and game_code, I hope that this good

Are those entries completely missing from the game_config.txt I put in releases?

If so, I urge you to instead improve this file. It is already referenced in the README's section on game_config.txt.

I also suggest this thread: http://gbatemp.net/threads/iplayer-supercard-gbaemu-game_config-txt-improvement-project.248619/

Since I have absolutely nothing to do tomorrow, I'll have a look and compare the two and check what differences there are and merge them.

Thanks

Of pretty interesting note, TempGBA Beta 13 is capable of emulating Stealth's proof of concept Sonic The Hedgehog GBA port VERY well, whilst NDSGBA 1.30 can't manage it at all.

I was impressed with that.

I suppose it's worth asking, overclocking can lead to instability, do any of you experience freezes when overclocking to [5] (396mhz) or is there possibly an issue with my DSTwo?
I'm thinking my DSTwo may have some issues with the 32gb card I am using, or possibly just contact issues with the DSi cart slot.

As I am comparing the game_config files I found there are quite a bit of differences between the current TempGBA (beta 13) and the one on filetrip (v1.3).
The differences are:
  • translation gates commented out in the TempGBA file, and one idle loop eliminate too.
  • Super Mario Advance (U) has a different game code in TempGBA. AMZE in TempGBA and AMAE in v1.3.
  • Pokemon: Fushigi no Dungeon Aka no Kyuujotai (J) has a different flash_rom_type and the game is commented out as a whole.
    • Mario and Luigi Superstars (U),
    • Ougon no Taiyo - Ushinawareshi Toki (J),
    • Nishihara Rieko no Dendou Mahjong (J),
    • Hudson Best Collection Vol.1 - Bomberman Collection (J),
    • Hudson Best Collection Vol.2 - Lode Runner Collection (J),
    • Hudson Best Collection Vol.3 - Action Collection (J),
    • Hudson Best Collection Vol.4 - Nazotoki Collection (J),
    • Hudson Best Collection Vol.5 - Shooting Collection (J),
    • Hudson Best Collection Vol.6 - Bouken Jima Collection (J),
    • Mario Tennis Advance (J),
    • Digi Communication 2 - Datou! Black Gemagema Dan (J),
    • Dragon Ball Z - The Legacy of Goku II International (J) are included in TempGBA and not in v1.3.
    • Open Season (U),
    • Robopon 2 Cross Version (U),
    • Robopon 2 Ring Version (U),
    • Disney's Aladdin (E),
    • Disney's Aladdin (U) are included in v1.3 and not in TempGBA.
I do not know which games are still necessary in game_config and which are not and what changes should stay and which shouldn't.
If you or anyone else who knows this could tel me what to keep and what to lose, I'll start merging these two files first, before merging them with the new game_config of Am-rA.
